About Admiral Cottage

Admiral Cottage sits in an enviable position, just above the main street, in the picturesque seaside town of St Ives in Cornwall. With fantastic blue flag beaches, a bohemian arts scene, and a great choice of restaurants, cafes and seafront bars, it is no wonder that so many families love holidaying here. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of town, Admiral Cottage is close enough to enjoy all the amenities on offer, but far enough away to escape the summer crowds. Sleeping four adults and two children in three bedrooms, and with a small garden and breathtaking harbour views, this pretty self-catering cottage is perfect for families and friends wanting to experience a slice of Cornish charm.

Sitting on the north west tip of Cornwall, St Ives has all the ingredients for a happy holiday by the sea. If it is large sandy beaches you are after, you will find it here in buckets and spades. Hire a board and go surfing on Porthmeor beach, build sandcastles, play a game of rounders and go paddling in the sea at Porthminster beach or try your hand at sailing and stand up paddle boarding at Carbis Bay. Alternatively head through the back streets of town to find the secret cove at dog-friendly Bamaluz beach or settle down in your deck chair at the sheltered bay at Porthgwidden.

When you are done with the sand between your toes there is plenty to keep you entertained in St Ives. Swap your flip flops for walking boots and enjoy the miles and miles of stunning views from the South West Coast Path. The challenging hike to Zennor is perfect for building up an appetite for an afternoon cream tea, or head east for a more leisurely stroll towards Carbis Bay. Whichever way you go you will be guaranteed fantastic views and fresh salty sea air. It is not only walkers who are drawn to the stunning views in St Ives - the dramatic landscapes have attracted artists here for centuries. Whilst the Tate St Ives is a must for any art lovers, there are also plenty of other smaller and quirky galleries to browse as you meander through the narrow cobbled streets.

You can easily spend your whole holiday not straying far from this pretty town, but if you wanted to explore further afield day trips could include visiting the famous castle and island at St Michael's Mount, the gardens and gallery at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens or treat yourself to a performance at the Minack Theatre.
