Ardogeena Cottage is ideal for couples or small families and provides the perfect retreat to relax and unwind. Ideally located, the cottage is just minutes from the picturesque village of Durrus in West Cork and makes a super base from which to explore this beautiful part of Ireland.
Durrus village offers very good amenities with an excellent grocery store for stocking up on all the provisions you should need (including award winning cheese made in Durrus itself). The village has four bustling Irish pubs for gaining refreshments with two serving food. There are also two restaurants serving very good local food within walking distance of the cottage along with a cafe.
At the head of Dunmanus Bay, Ardogeena Cottage is at the gateway to the beautiful Mizen and Sheeps Head Peninsula. A lush mountainous area, there are plenty of interesting places to visit and activities to enjoy including horse riding, water sports, cycling, fishing and great walking opportunities. The harbour town of Bantry is just six miles away and offers a wider range of shops, restaurants and bars, along with a cinema, golf, a vibrant weekly market and Banty House with its beautiful gardens meandering their way down to the shore. Alternatively take a boat trip from Schull to Cape Clear Island with its wild romantic scenery and sparkling waters.
Stay put at the cottage where you will want for nothing. Set within the owner's grounds where they live, there is a children's play area for use under supervision, a natural pond and hens that wander freely. Should you think of something you have forgotten, the owner's will do their best to help but will also respect your privacy if you want peace and quiet.
