Quarryman's Cottage is in the lovely village of Llysfaen, close to Llandulas Beach and within easy reach of Colwyn Bay and Snowdonia National Park. The three-bedroom holiday cottage sleeps six people and is ideal for couples or families who want a quiet base where they can relax while still being close to some of North Wales best sights and attractions. It has gorgeous sea views from the rear of the house and the back garden, while the front of the cottage overlooks fields and countryside. There are lovely walks from the door, including a fairly steep route to the welcoming Valentine Inn, where you can get a tasty pub meal if you're not in the mood to cook.
Llysfaen delivers the best of North Wales in one tidy package. Being just over a mile from Llandulas and the coast means beaches are close enough to walk or cycle. However, the immediate area is remarkably elevated and undulating - a characteristic North Wales is famed for. If you want a challenging walk or bike ride, stick to the hills around the house or nearby Mynydd Marian nature reserve. If you prefer to take it a little more easy, then a short drive will take you to the Wales Coast Path and flat walks along seaside promenades at Colwyn Bay or Rhos-on-Sea. Day trips can include heading north over the Menai Bridge to Anglesey or booking a hair-raising Rib Ride experience across Menai Strait to Beaumaris and Puffin Island. Those who admire the beauty and stories of historical places can go to National Plas Newydd, Gwrych Castle, Conwy Castle and Caernarfon Castle. Gardeners should certainly put National Trust Bodnant Gardens on their itinerary. Further afield, but still only 45 minutes by car from the cottage, Chester offers full days of fun with a world-class zoo, Roman architecture, boutiques and upmarket bars and restaurants.
As impressive as the castles and gardens are, it's the natural landscape that attracts many visitors who come to North Wales every year. Sun yourself on beaches like Conwy, Colwyn Bay, Abergele and Rhos-on-Sea. Climb Snowdon via the Llanberris Path or take the Victorian train to the peak and walk back down. Sail and fish in the beautiful Conwy Estuary, or grab your binoculars, a backpack of food and your most comfortable walking boots and see where the paths from around the cottage take you.
Quarryman's Cottage is attractive and welcoming for holidays all year round. It's child and pet-friendly, with one well-behaved dog welcome.
