Pen Terrace is a wonderfully light and spacious holiday cottage in the pretty seaside village of Penmaenmawr. The location is fantastic, being just 500 metres from the beach, shops, cafes, and pubs, half a mile from Snowdonia National Park, and within easy reach of Conwy and Anglesey. It's the perfect place to stay while you enjoy the gorgeous beaches, mountains, and castles for which this area is known. The owners have recently refurbished the cottage, which sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is perfect for couples or families.
Penmaenmawr has all of the features that make a seaside holiday so special. So many of its holidaymakers visit every year, coming to build sandcastles on the flat sandy beach, go swimming, sailing, and surfing, walk along the Victorian seafront promenade, and take their children to play in the playground and paddling pool. All of this is mere steps from your holiday cottage. You don't even need a car to have a great holiday here as there is a mainline train station on the North Wales Coast Line that goes between Chester and Holyhead.
Walking and cycling are always popular activities. A favourite footpath is the Penmaenmawr Upland Walk. The 5.5-mile circular route from the library goes to the top of the headland and ancient stone circle above the beach and offers breathtaking (literally - it's a steep climb!) panoramic views. An alternative route is the six-mile Huw Tom Upland Walk Walk to Rowen. Hike stretches of the Wales Coast Path, or jump on your bike and explore even further. Snowdonia National Park is only a 10-minute walk from the cottage, giving easy access to a vast natural playground with endless walking, hiking, climbing, and mountain biking opportunities.
Local attractions include Conwy Castle, Caernarfon Castle and Beaumaris Castle (on Anglesey), protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Snowdon Mountain Railway is only half an hour away in Llanberris, so you can take the train to the top of Snowdon if you don't fancy the walk. Zip World, Bounce Below, and the Llechwedd Slate Caverns are also within reach for a day out. Pen Terrace has a reassuringly high 4-Star rating from Visit Wales, so you know you'll feel welcome and comfortable no matter what time of the year you stay.
