Fig Tree is a delightful holiday cottage in a spectacular location with views you'd happily sell your soul for. The two-bedroom property sleeps up to five people on one level. It's unfussy yet extremely comfortable for couples or families, including those with younger children and pets, with an open plan living space and plenty of room outdoors for playing and having fun. It's one of two welcoming Conwy Valley Cottages on-site, the other being Laurel which sleeps four people in two bedrooms. Depending on availability, you can book the two together for two families who want to holiday together without sacrificing their privacy. With an acre of grounds, a heated indoor swimming pool, and a location within easy reach of Eglwysbach near Snowdonia National Park, it's a place to enjoy all year round.
Eglwysbach suits everyone from the adventurous to the laid-back. It's a quiet, friendly community with panoramic views of the Carneddau (Snowdonia) and a busy local pub. It also provides access to the 3.5-mile Hiraethlyn Walk. Bodnant Garden is three miles from the cottage. The 80-acre National Trust estate is a breathtaking sight and a lovely spot for a walk and a picnic or morning tea in the cafe. Conwy Water Gardens are also popular, with fishing lakes, a nature walk and play area, and a Dutch Pancake House providing a delicious alternative to teacakes. Other local attractions include Gwydir Castle, the Conwy Valley Maze, bird watching at RSPB Conwy nature reserve and wetlands, and the Welsh Mountain Zoo.
Give your adrenaline a kick-start at Adventure Parc Snowdonia. Six miles from Fig Tree Cottage, it offers the world's first inland surf lagoon, high ropes courses, zip lines, indoor slides and rope climbing fun for all ages. Zip World Fforest is nearby in Betws y Coed, one of Wales' premier mountain biking locations, and you're also within easy reach of Zip World Slate Caverns and Penrhyn Quarry. The fun doesn't stop when you reach the ground with subterranean attractions like Bounce Below and Go Below. Other attractions to add to your itinerary include Llechwedd’s Slate Mountain Adventure and husky-pulled sledge riding at Mynydd Sleddog Adventures. Fig Tree Cottage is not only ideal for the mountains. It's also ideal for days at the coast. Pick up your groceries in the shadow of the magnificent Conwy Castle or wander along the seafront promenade and Wales' longest pier at Llandudno.
