Soar Cottage sleeps up to five guests and is the largest of Blue Grass Holiday Cottages three welcoming retreats. Perfectly placed in the picturesque Welsh village of Chancery, the cottages are just four miles from the vibrant historic market town of Aberystwyth.
Offering all the right ingredients for a relaxing holiday, the cottages nestle amidst the rolling countryside of Mid-Wales on the owners family run farm, providing a taste of country life with all the benefits of Aberystwyth a short drive away.
Sitting on the Welsh Coast and warmed by the Gulf Stream, Aberystwyth is a popular holiday destination at any time of the year. Sandwiched between two glorious beaches and surrounded by magnificent hills, seaside locations don't get much more picturesque. Spend your days browsing the shops, strolling along the seafront lined with colourful Victorian (and Edwardian) buildings, exploring the castle ruins, savouring a long lunch in one of the cafes in the pretty harbour, or walking the hills which will reward with stunning views over Cardigan Bay.
For those who enjoy lazing on the beach, Aberystwyth offers the choice of two beaches. The South Beach is the quieter of the two sitting between the harbour and castle, with a long expanse of sand for relaxing and playing. Alternatively, head to the award winning North Beach which is backed by a long promenade (perfect for an afternoon stroll) and lifeguard patrolled during the summer months (a popular haunt with surfers). In line with its traditional seaside feel, you will also find donkey rides, an electric cliff railway, as well as a bandstand and pier. Aberystwyth also has a golf course for those who enjoy a game (with views over Cardigan Bay!) as well as the Ceredigion Heritage Coastal Path offering wonderful walking opportunities.
Slightly further around the coast are a wealth of attractions for day trips out. Head south around Cardigan Bay to the Georgian fishing seaside town of Aberaeron with its colourful houses around the harbour or further to Tresaith beach with its magnificent waterfall that tumbles down into the sea. Beyond this you have Pembrokeshire National Park. Alternatively, head north and explore the many attractions of Snowdonia's stunning National Park and beaches including Fairbourne and Barmouth, if of course you can tear yourself away from the beauty of Chancery and Aberystwyth.
