About Murmur Aeron

Murmur Aeron enjoys a peaceful spot on the edge of Llangeitho village, within walking distance of the Three Horseshoe Inn, village shop and café. It is a large house with room for up to six people in four bedrooms, so is ideal for families and groups of friends on holiday together.

It is hard to find a better location if you love being outdoors as there are a wealth of walking and cycling trails nearby giving you a choice days out by the beach or in the countryside. With the Cambrian Mountains and Teifi Valley nearby, not to mention the Tregaron trail, Ystwyth cycling trail, Aeron Valley Trail, Ceredigion Coastal footpath and mountain bike centres near Bwlch Nant Yr Arian, Brecfa, Machynlleth and Dolgellau, you can head off in a different direction every morning.

As well as being surrounded by stunning countryside, Murmur Aeron is just a short drive away from Cardigan Bay and some fantastic beaches. Dolphins are regularly spotted from the beach and headland at New Quay and Mwnt, as well as around Aberystwyth Harbour. Llangrannog beach is always popular yet never feels crowded thanks to its size, or maybe you would prefer the small smuggler's cove at Cwmtydu. Other beaches to add to your "days out" itinerary include Tresaith, Aberporth, Ceibwr Bay and Poppit Sands.

While it can hardly be classed as cosmopolitan, this part of Wales is not without urban charm. Aberystwyth is a lively university town with a fantastic array of places to eat, drink and shop. It also has a fun funicular railway, good museums (including The National Library of Wales) and a Victorian pier and promenade with traditional seaside entertainments. Smaller than Aberystwyth, Lampeter is another university town with a variety of shops, pubs and cafes. Stroll along the Lampeter Town Trail to find out more about the town's history.

Murmur Aeron's name comes from the Aeron Valley and the Aeron River which flows through the village. Nearby attractions include Llanerchaeron, managed by the National Trust, Strata Florida Abbey, and the Vale of Rheidol Railway. With a golf course and equestrian centre also close to the house, you can be as active as you please.

Location (Ceredigion)

Murmur Aeron is a spacious home with four bedrooms, a large sitting room, parquet floors and high ceilings. The owners thoughtfully provide a welcome basket of logs for the multi-fuel stove as well as provisions so you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on arrival whilst unpacking.

Accommodation Comprises:

Downstairs:

  • A multi-fuel stove provides a cosy focal point for the sitting room on chilly mornings and evenings. With two three-seater sofas and a television, it is a comfortable place to relax and unwind after a busy day. There is a door that opens onto the garden.
  • The contemporary fitted kitchen has all the mod-cons you would expect from a holiday home of this high standard, including a dishwasher. The large window that overlooks the garden lets in lots of natural light, and the owners have taken care to ensure it is well-equipped with utensils and cutlery.
  • A separate dining room has a large table to seat six people. There is a handy serving hatch between the dining room and the kitchen.
  • A second reception room works as a reading room. There is a good choice of novels, information about the local area and board games.
  • There is a convenient cloakroom with WC and handbasin, as well as a drying room for wet boots and coats.

Upstairs:

  • The master bedroom is light and airy thanks to its double aspect. There is a double bed, bedside tables with reading lights, wardrobe and chest of drawers.
  • The second double bedroom is at the rear of the property, overlooking the garden. It is also spacious with good storage.
  • Two single bedrooms are decorated to suit either children or adults. They have good storage and nice views of the surrounding countryside.
  • A family shower room has a large shower and a hand basin.
  • A separate cloakroom has a WC and hand basin.

Outside: A large garden wraps around the house, with fields behind it giving uninterrupted countryside views. It is mostly laid to lawn, so great for playing games, with mature trees, fruit trees and bushes. There is off-road parking for up to four cars, including a garage which can be used for secure bicycle and motorbike storage.

Additional Information: The house has central heating and WiFi. All utilities, linen and towels are included. Short breaks may be possible depending on availability. No smoking. No pets.
