Vinetree Apartment provides everything a couple could wish for in a comfy welcoming holiday base from which to enjoy the beauty of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. Providing 4 Star accommodation, Vinetree Apartment is one of a collection of holiday homes available to adults (and infants), lovingly presented by Neuadd Cottages on the edge of the village of Llangattock and within walking distance of two good pubs, The Vinetree and the Horseshoe Inn. The attractive Welsh town of Crickhowell is also close-by, providing yet further choice of places for a meal out like the popular Dragon Inn and The Bear as well as interesting independent shops for locally sourced produce - all within walking distance.
Neuadd Cottages sit in a rural setting where guests can enjoy tranquility, fabulous views of Llangattock Mountain and lots of opportunities for outdoor adventure on the doorstep. The holiday homes are self-contained and offer guests privacy.
Lace up your walking boots, follow the path across the meadow and spend the day exploring the Cambrian Way, or venture further afield to Table Mountain, Sugarloaf Mountain, Llangattock Mountain, and Pen-Allt-mawr. There are a myriad of footpaths, tracks, trails and leafy lanes that will satisfy the keenest of walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers; as well as more sedate opportunities like strolling or pedalling alongside the Monmouthshire to Brecon Canal, picnicking beside the River Usk or strolling through the Craig y Cilau National Nature Reserve which sits just behind the apartment. Abundant with wildlife, the ancient woodland of the nature reserve and its geological and historical features will give guests an appreciation of the area's industrial heritage. Pen-y-Fan is also within easy reach by car if you are up for the challenge, as are Corn du and Cribyn.
The escarpment above Llangattock is popular for those with a passion for caving, with the Agen Allwedd system offering 20 miles of exploration, and the area offers opportunities for pony trekking.
When you fancy a lazy day, you can happily lose a few hours sourcing local goodies in the independent shops of Crickhowell and having a long lazy lunch at one of the popular pubs; or head to historic Abergavenny with its regular market (Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays), Brecon or Monmouth. The area has castles and ruins to satisfy the keenest of historians with the ruined walls of Abergavenny's Norman castle, the towers of White Castle, Tretower, Grosmont, Skenfrith and Chepstow to name just a few.
Whatever the time of year, the owners of Neuadd Cottages offer a warm welcome. Visit on your own for a romantic break and weekend of outdoor pursuits; or book one of the other cottages and visit with friends or family for a relaxing and fun-filled holiday.
