This quirky holiday cottage is as the name suggests. It is an upside down house, with a light and airy feel, with interesting rooflines and beams, homely touches and a stylish décor.
This very pretty barn is a true 'little gem' and has been converted sympathetically to retain all of its charm and character, whilst providing all of the comforts of the 21st century.
Ideal for a family, two couples wanting to holiday together, or for a couple looking for a romantic hideaway, Topsy Turvy is owned and has been converted by a local builder to a high standard.
Worton is a small hamlet approximately a mile from Askrigg and Bainbridge in Upper Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The village has one of the few remaining classic front room pubs - The Victoria Arms, very popular with pub lovers and a truly personal and individual pub with it’s stone flagged floors and roaring open fire.
Whilst The Victoria Arms does not serve food, it will not cause a problem as there are three goods pubs in Askrigg, along with two tea shops, a florist, a village shop and a deli/bakery where you can stock up with all the basics.
Askrigg sits beneath the stunning fells of Ellerkin and Askrigg Common towards the top of Wensleydale. Its character stone cottages and houses line the main street, with the 15th century parish church in the heart of the village in the old cobbled market place, which still today has its market cross and iron bull ring set into the cobbles. Visitors may recognise Cringley House as ‘Skeldale House’ from the BBC television series ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ with the Kings Arms being the ‘Drovers Arms’ from the same series.
