The Doll's House sleeps two guests and is a delightful stone holiday cottage that is ideal for couples. It is peacefully tucked away just behind Frenchgate (with its own private parking!) within the market town of Richmond in the Yorkshire Dales.
This romantic holiday cottage was built circa 1850 and is an ideal base from which to enjoy numerous walks, explore this wonderful quaint market town and explore the many attractions that the Yorkshire Dales has to offer.
Richmond lies on the River Swale and is the capital of Swaledale, often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Dales'. Its quaint, narrow cobbled streets, market place, Georgian houses, Norman castle and breathtaking scenery, gives this town its wonderful atmosphere and unique character. Voted "Great Town of the Year" in 2009, Richmond retains much of its typical Yorkshire charm, whilst having plenty of atmosphere and activities, along with a good selection of restaurants, shops, pubs, galleries and weekly/daily markets.
This market town offers a wealth of things to see and do. It is home to the oldest Georgian theatre in the country and there are three museums where you can learn about the towns fascinating history. The town has some wonderful riverside walks and town trails and for the keen walker, there are plenty of wonderful walking opportunities throughout the Yorkshire Dales.
The Doll's House is ideal for a romantic break. You could also rent the owners other adjoining cottage (see separate advert) and come along with friends or family and enjoy the area together whilst having a good degree of privacy. These two cottages are peacefully tucked away in a quiet position, yet benefit from having everything on the doorstep - They are both absolute hidden gems!

The Doll's House has recently undergone a complete refurbishment by the owner who is a qualified Interior Designer. The holiday cottage is absolutely beautiful and the owner has perfectly combined lovely original features (including beams and an original fireplace) with modern conveniences to provide a cosy, shabby chic retreat in which to relax.
With hand-painted furniture, The Doll's House has a lovely French feel, which is both practical and comfortable. There are plenty of walks and wonderful sights available on the door step and the cottage has its own south-facing patio garden where you can enjoy morning coffee or alfresco dining.
Accommodation comprises:
Ground floor open plan living area with original fire place (for ornamental purposes), comfortable seating, television, and DVD player (which can play CD's).
The kitchen area is well equipped with electric oven, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle.
First floor double bedroom with views across the rooftops and en-suite bathroom.
Outside: There is a south-facing patio garden and private off-road parking for one car.
Additional information: Heating, linen, electricity and towels are included.
