If you are planning a large family holiday, group activity or a family reunion in the Yorkshire Dales then this may be the perfect holiday accommodation for you.
Dale House accommodates parties of up to twenty four guests and can be exclusively yours at any time of the year on either a self catering or catered basis.
Standing amidst spectacular countryside, Dale House is located in the village of Kettlewell and offers lovely views up and down the upper Wharfe Valley in the very heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It was originally built as an hotel by the local railway company for holidays which were increasing in popularity towards the end of the Victorian era and has since been used as both a house and hotel.
Kettlewell is mentioned in the Doomsday Survey of 1086 and is a long established thriving traditional dales village. It has approximately three hundred houses, a village hall, a church, children's playing field, three pubs all serving food, two tea rooms, a Post Office, village store along with a village garage.
The larger village of Grassington is just six miles away and offers a good selection of shops and a bank. The traditional bustling market town of Skipton has the usual high street shops and supermarkets and is just thirty minutes away and a fifteen mile drive.
Kettlewell is an excellent location for touring the Yorkshire Dales with its many villages and small towns offering refreshments and attractions. There is so much to see and do from museums about dales life, through the ages to caves filled with limestone formations. There are also local art galleries and craft shops offering works inspired by the beautiful scenery.
For those who enjoy walking, Kettlewell is ideally situated for both leisurely strolls along the river banks to fell walking up the valley with several circular routes leaving the village in different directions suiting different energy levels. Cyclists can also enjoy the open roads and mountain biking is available in the area.
The dramatic countryside is ideal for artists, birdwatchers and lovers of nature and the rivers provide excellent trout fishing, or paddling in the warm weather, providing hours of entertainment for the children (and adults!).
