Craven Cottage is a beautiful listed character holiday cottage that sleeps four to six guests. It is located in the Wharfedale village of Appletreewick, one of the Yorkshire Dales' most picturesque villages. The cottage has historic links to Sir William Craven (Dick Whittington) and is an ideal place for those who enjoy outdoor activities or who want to explore the Yorkshire Dales and its many attractions.
The river Wharfe is just one field away from Craven Cottage and the village boasts a beautiful church and two interesting pubs which serve food. Surrounded by spectacular scenery, there are an abundance of fantastic walks and good cycling starting from the front door including the Dales Way which runs along the banks of the River Wharfe, as well as the valley of desolation, Troller’s Gill, Simon’s Seat and Strid Wood at Bolton Abbey.
Situated between the vibrant market town of Skipton (eight miles) and the pretty Wharfedale village of Grassington (five miles), the cottage makes an ideal base from which to expore the Yorkshire Dales National Park. From here you can try pot holing, rock climbing, fishing, ride on a hot-air balloon or enjoy pony trekking.
There are plenty of things to see and do including National Trust houses and gardens and visiting the delightful villages of Burnsall, Hebden and Linton. The nearest small town is Grassington with a good selection of restaurants, shops and a monthly farmers' market. Skipton has four markets per week and sits on the Leeds-Liverpool canal where you can enjoy a trip on a narrow boat. Ilkley (ten miles) has a wealth of restaurants and great shops and is within easy driving distance.

This beautiful holiday cottage sleeps four guests in the comfort of two beautiful beds and can accommodate an additional two guests in the third bedroom that has a double futon (available at an additional charge of £20 for linens and towels).
Accommodation Comprises:
Large living room with dining area, beams, flag stone floor, fantastic open fire, two three-seater sofas, television with Sky-Freeview, DVD player and broadband.
Large country kitchen with range cooker (electric), dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer, toaster etc.
Bedroom one with kingsize bed and fireplace. Bedroom two with twin beds. Bedroom three with bunk beds - there is a £20 additional linen charge for the use of the bunk bed room.
Large family bathroom with free-standing roll top bath and separate shower.
Outside: There is no actual garden but a small outside seating space at the front of the cottage with lovely views. Parking is on the quiet road outside the cottage.
Additional information: Linen and towels included for up to four people. Weekly cleaning and towel and linen change included within the price.
