Allen Haw is a detached holiday cottage that dates back to 1746 which still retains much character with features including multi paned windows, original sneck doors, stone staircase and open fire set in a cast iron range. In a tranquil position, the front door opens out onto open pasture where you can enjoy the wonderful views across the valley from it’s elevated position, with the River Dee flowing below and the lower slopes of Whernside above.
Dent Village with its cobbled centre is just three miles from the cottage which is also conveniently located just one and a half miles from Dent railway station, England's highest mainline station. The Settle-Carlisle Railway is one of the most wonderful scenic railway journeys in the world which travels through Dentdale, stopping at Dent Station. From here you can take a train to Leeds or Carlisle and sit back and take in the spectacular views of the Yorkshire Dales and Pennines along the way.
