Badgers Cottage offers attractive holiday accommodation that is situated in Overdale, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. This pretty stone cottage sits alongside the Ribble beck and has a lovely garden which is ideal for relaxing in on a sunny day. It is also perfect for those early/late season breaks, where you can relax in front of a cosy fire (gas coal effect) giving you a feeling of home from home.
Hellifield village is situated in the Yorkshire Dales and ideally placed for walking, biking, trekking and exploring this treasure of English countryside. The village has two pubs, a general store, a renowned butchers and a post office. You can hike into the Dales from the front door. Alternatively its only a few miles to where you can stroll along country canal towpaths passing narrowboats, locks, pretty villages with tempting pubs and chatting to the ever friendly people enjoying the relaxed pace of life every holiday deserves.
This is an ideal base to get around for all activities, even dedicated colour graded for ease/difficulty mountain bike trails locally within Gisburn Forest. For those who like a scenic round of golf there are several clubs in the area. Pony trekking is available from a local hotel (the Craven County Ride is a lovely bridleway) and you can also ride out from the Skipton Trekking centre.
Badgers Cottage is close to the historic Dales town of Skipton which boasts a well preserved medieval castle and famous market four days a week. The town of Settle is also close by offering true Dales character in its pubs, little shops and famous railway station. The cottage is only five miles from the walks and waterfalls of Malham Dale, and Hellifield station (walking distance) provides access to ride the famous Settle to Carlisle route - England’s most scenic railway!
The Leeds Liverpool canal system winds it way through the area adding interest for those seeking boating, fishing and aquatic tranquility. Further afield and forty five minutes scenic drive you are well into the heart of the Lake District.

Additional information: There is off road parking on a private driveway suitable for two cars. Non smoking property with smoke detection. Children welcome. Accommodation offered for four persons with three bedrooms flexibly providing a double, a twin and a single bedroom. A fifth person may be accommodated by agreement.
