The Old Chapel is an ideal retreat for couples, sleeping two guests. It is a converted Old Weslyean Methodist chapel that dates back to the 1890s and is located in the peaceful village of Seaton Ross, in the heart of the glorious East Yorkshire countryside. Located midway between the historic towns of Beverley and York, The Old Chapel is an ideal base for exploring the many attractions that this part of Yorkshire has to offer.
Full of charm and character, The Old Chapel is surrounded by rural countryside and perfect for those who enjoy walking with plenty of picturesque and interesting footpaths to explore, starting in Seaton Ross and the surrounding villages. The Wolds Way is also nearby and winds its way through some of the most peaceful countryside in the country. Within the village there are two old mills which are of historic interest and St Edmund’s Church. The village also has a pub and a local shop which are both only a few minute's walk from The Old Chapel.
The enchanting City of York is only twenty minutes away, with its quaint cobbled streets, iconic York Minster, fantastic architecture and attractions which include the Jorvik Viking Centre, the York Dungeon and the Shambles to name just a few. The city has a vibrant cafe culture and excellent selection of places to eat along with fantastic shops.
The market town of Beverley is only half an hour away and also has a rich cultural heritage which includes the Beverley Minster and St Mary's Church, along with the Westwood where cattle graze, the Racecourse and the markets. Both Beverley and York are host to a number of arts, music and food festivals every year. Nearby is the bustling market town of Pocklington, with many restaurants, pubs, tea rooms, shops and cafes. Other nearby attractions include the Wolds Gliding Club, Burnby Hall Gardens, Millington Wood, Pocklington Canal and Wheldrake Ings Nature Reserve.
The North York Moors and the coastal towns of Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough are within easy reach by car and a little further along the coast are Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby. The stately homes of Sledmere, Burton Agnes and Castle Howard are also within easy reach and for wildlife enthusiasts, the RSPB sites at Bempton and Blacktoft Sands are worth a visit.

Living/dining room with a large, spacious living area and dining area with many original features including large arched windows and wooden beams. There is solid fuel central heating and a wood burning stove to provide heat on those more chilly nights, along with electric radiators for more convenient heating. A 32-inch flat screen television, CD player, DVD player, digital radio and a small library of books, DVDs and games are provided for guests enjoyment.
Modern, well equipped, fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, NEFF double oven with integrated microwave, integrated fridge freezer, automatic washing machine and separate tumble dryer.
Spacious bathroom with cast iron roll top bath, shower, designer wash basin and original Thomas Crapper toilet! Towels are provided.
First floor
One double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and integral office space. Bedding is provided.
Outside: There is an outside seating area at the front of The Old Chapel which overlooks the green and church opposite. A garden table with four folding chairs are provided. Alternatively, this space can be used as a parking area, with room for two cars, however, the village is quiet and there is ample roadside parking.
Additional information: Dogs are welcome by arrangement but unfortunately cats cannot be accepted.There are solid oak wooden floors throughout. Prices are inclusive of water, electricity, bed linen, towels and tea-towels.
