Mason's Yard is situated in the centre of the Wiltshire village of Great Bedwyn. It sits conveniently tucked away in a court yard behind the post office, though double gates. The village is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has a baker, post office, village shop, garage (no pumps) and two pubs, one with a great restaurant - why not wander up the street to collect your morning paper or freshly baked bread.
The accommodation consists of a row of three self catering holiday cottages - two that are ideal for couples, sleeping two guests and one larger cottage that sleeps up to four guests. There is a large utility room that guest's have shared access to, with washing machine, tumble dryer and an iron with ironing board. There is also plenty of storage room for walking boots, bikes etc.
Each cottage affords a fully equipped kitchen with oven and hob, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave oven, toaster, kettle etc. The comfortably furnished lounges with dining areas, have Freeview flat screen televisions and bedrooms are well furnished with beds having pocket sprung mattresses.
There are many cycle routes in the Wiltshire Downs area which links to the Ridge Way Path and Great Bedwyn is on the Wiltshire Cycleway, providing easy access. There is also a route along the old railway line from Marlborough to Chiseldon just outside Swindon.
The area is rich in history, with sites including Silbury Hill, Avebury Stone Circle, St. Martin’s Chapel at nearby Chisbury, Wilton Windmill (the only working windmill in Wiltshire), Kennet Long Burrow and the infamous Crop Circles which from time to time appear on the Marlborough and Pewsey Downs.
The Kennet and Avon Canal runs nearby where you can enjoy a beautiful walk along the tow path. Caen Hill flight of twenty nine locks at Devizes is worth visiting and there are a good selection of inns where you can gain refreshment along the canal. Alternatively take a narrow boat trip from nearby Pewsey, Hungerford or Devizes which is a little further away.
The historic town of Marlborough provides a good range of tea rooms, shops, pubs and restaurants and is just seven miles away. Hungerford with its antique shops is five miles and a larger choice of amenities and shops are available in the towns of Newbury, Swindon and the beautiful historic town of Bath - all within easy reach.
The cottages are perfectly placed for exploring the areas many attractions with something for everyone including: The Hawk Conservancy near Andover; The Cotswold Water Park (the largest in UK); Bowood House; The Wiltshire Downs; Longleat Safari Park; Stourhead Gardens; Westonbirt Arboretum; The Cotswold Wild Life park; Bristol Zoo and the South Coast, to name just a few.

Additional information: Great Bedwyn has a main line railway station which provides direct access to London Paddington in approximately one hour. Short Breaks (minimum two night) are available off peak season - rates from £40 per night. Cottage Two has a parking space at the front. All electricity, oil and gas are included in the price. Bed linen and towels are provided at no extra charge.
