Mason's Yard sits in the heart of the village of Great Bedwyn within Wiltshire. It is conveniently tucked away in a court yard behind the post office and accessed though double gates. Within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the village has a post office, baker, garage (no pumps), village shop and two pubs, one with a great restaurant - why not stroll out for dinner or wander up the street to collect your paper and freshly baked bread.
The accommodation has much to offer and consists of three holiday cottages in a row - two which are ideal for couples, sleeping two guests and one that sleeps up to four. Guest's have the shared use of a large utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and iron/board and there is plenty of storage room for walking boots, bikes etc.
Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer compartment, oven and hob, microwave oven, toaster etc. The lounges are furnished comfortably and have dining areas, along with Freeview flat screen televisions. The bedrooms are well furnished with pocket sprung mattresses on beds.
For cyclists, there are lots of cycle routes in the Wiltshire Downs area which links to the Ridge Way Path. Great Bedwyn is also on the Wiltshire Cycleway and there is a route along the old railway line from Marlborough to Chiseldon.
Rich in history, the area has sites that include Avebury Stone Circle, Silbury Hill, St. Martin’s Chapel at nearby Chisbury, Kennet Long Burrow, the infamous Crop Circles appearing from time to time on the Marlborough and Pewsey Downs and Wilton Windmill (the only working windmill in Wiltshire).
The Kennet and Avon Canal passes close by offering beautiful walks along the tow path and Caen Hill flight of twenty nine locks at Devizes is worth visiting. There are plenty of inns providing refreshment along the canal and why not enjoy a narrow boat trip from Pewsey or Hungerford nearby or Devizes a little further away.
The town of Marlborough is seven miles away. Steeped in history, it provides a good range of pubs, shops, tea rooms and restaurants. Hungerford with its antique shops is five miles from Mason' s Yard and a larger selection of amenities are available in the towns of Newbury and Swindon. The beautiful historic City of Bath is also within easy reach.
The holiday cottages are ideally placed for exploring the areas numerous attractions including: Bowood House; The Cotswold Water Park (the largest in UK); The Hawk Conservancy near Andover; Longleat Safari Park; The Wiltshire Downs; Stourhead Gardens; The Cotswold Wild Life park; Westonbirt Arboretum; the South Coast and Bristol Zoo to name just a few.

Additional information: Great Bedwyn has a main line railway station providing direct access to London Paddington in approximately one hour. Short Breaks (minimum two night) are available out of season - rates are from £40 per night. Cottage Three has a parking space at the front. All oil, electricity and gas is included in the price. Towels and bed linen provided at no extra charge.
