Mason’s Yard is located in the heart of the Wiltshire village of Great Bedwyn, behind the Post Office with the entry in to this tucked away court yard, though double gates. The village which is in an area of outstanding natural beauty has a village shop, post office, baker, garage (no pumps) and two pubs, one with an excellent restaurant. Why not stroll up the street to collect your freshly baked bread and morning paper.
The accommodation comprises of a row of three holiday cottages - two sleeping two guests and ideal for couples, and one sleeping up to four guests. There is a large communal utility room that has a washing machine, tumble dryer and an iron with ironing board for guests use. There is also plenty of room to store bikes, walking boots etc.
Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with oven and hob, microwave oven, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle etc. The lounges are comfortably furnished with dining areas, flat screen televisions (with Freeview) and books to read. The bedrooms are well furnished and all the beds have pocket sprung mattresses.
Great Bedwyn is on the Wiltshire Cycleway. There are many cycle routes in the Wiltshire Downs area which links to the Ridge Way Path. There is a route along the old railway line from Marlborough to Chiseldon just outside Swindon.
The area is rich in history, with such sites as Avebury Stone Circle, Kennet Long Burrow, Silbury Hill, St. Martin’s Chapel at nearby Chisbury and the not so ancient Crop Circles which appear on the Marlborough and Pewsey Downs from time to time. Wilton Windmill the only working windmill is also in Wiltshire.
The Kennet and Avon Canal runs nearby with beautiful walks along the tow path - why not take a gentle stroll along the canal with many interesting sights to see and things to do. Caen Hill flight of twenty nine locks at Devizes is well worth a visit and there are plenty of inns along the canal way to gain refreshment. Narrow boat trips are also available from nearby Pewsey and Hungerford or further away from Devizes.
The historic town of Marlborough is just seven miles away providing a good choice of shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs. Hungerford with its antique shops is also nearby and just five miles away. For a larger choice of amenities and selection of shops the towns of Swindon, Newbury and the lovely historic town of Bath are within easy reach.
The cottages are in an ideal location for exploring the areas many attractions with something to suit all ages including: The Cotswold Water Park (the largest in UK); The Hawk Conservancy near Andover; Bowood House; Longleat Safari Park; The Wiltshire Downs; Stourhead Gardens; The Cotswold Wild Life park; Westonbirt Arboretum; Bristol Zoo and the South Coast, to name just a few.

Cottage One sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms and comprises:

Bathroom with bath and electric showers over, along with shower screen, WC and wash basin.
Additional information: There is a main line railway station in Great Bedwyn with direct access to London Paddington in approximately one hour. Short Breaks (minimum two night) available in off peak season - rates are from £40 per night. Cottage One has a double parking space at the front. All electricity, gas and oil included in the price. Bed linen and towels provided at no extra charge.
