Kestrel Cottage is situated in a rural location between Great Bedwyn and Crofton on the edge of Savernake Forest. The cottage which enjoys views across open farmland stands next to Brail Vista and accessed via the main drive.
The owners aim to make your stay as relaxed and comfortable as possible.
The village of Great Bedwyn which is in an area of outstanding natural beauty has a village shop, post office, baker, basket maker, garage (no pumps) and two pubs, one with an excellent restaurant.
Great Bedwyn is on the Wiltshire Cycleway; there are many cycle routes in the Wiltshire Downs area which links to the Ridge Way Path. There is a route along the old railway line from Marlborough to Chiseldon just outside Swindon.
The area is rich in history, with sites such as Kennet Long Burrow, Silbury Hill, Avebury Stone Circle, St. Martin’s Chapel at nearby Chisbury, Wilton Windmill (the only working windmill in Wiltshire) and the Crop Circles which are not so ancient, appearing on the Marlborough and Pewsey Downs at times.

The holiday cottage is fully equipped (just bring yourself) and comprises:
Ground Floor
Large comfortable lounge with three price suite, bed settee, coffee table, sideboard, occasional tables, two bookcases with plenty of books to read and games for the children, TV, video, stereo with CD, radio and a gas coal effect fire to keep you cosy.
Fully fitted and equipped for six people, the kitchen/dining room has a built in oven and hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher also a microwave oven, toaster, kettle and radio. Matching pine table, chairs and sideboard. There will be tea, coffee, sugar and milk waiting for you, also bread from the local baker on request.
The shower room has power shower, wash basin, shaver point and toilet.
Upstairs
Bedroom one: Comfortable double bed with pocket sprung mattress, dressing table with stool, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers and wardrobe.
Bedroom two: Two single beds, bedside cabinets, dressing table with stool, chest of drawers and wardrobe.
There is also a fold up bed, travel cot and high chair available.
Bathroom with corner bath, wash basin and toilet.
There is an enclosed paved and gravel garden area around the cottage with garden furniture and barbeque from where you can enjoy the views over beautiful open country side. Also, a three acre paddock sits beside the cottage.
Additional information: There is a main line railway that runs past the cottage with a station in Great Bedwyn providing direct access to London Paddington in approximately an hour. Please check location map before booking.
