Williamscraig Holiday Cottages is a family owned and run business that offers three stylish holiday cottages that can each accommodate up to eight guests. The cottages are based near the historic town of Linlithgow and have recently been converted from agricultural buildings to provide comfortable holiday accommodation of a high standard.
Located next to Linlithgow Golf Course, the cottages are ideal for golfers and fishermen alike with two fishing lochs nearby. There are many beautiful and peaceful walks in the immediate area, including a direct path to Cairnpapple Hills and Cockleroy where there once stood ancient henges and forts. These hills have excellent mountain bike tracks and the area is a haven for wildlife with over eighty different types of birds.
The historic town of Linlithgow is just one and a half miles away and provides visitors with plenty to see and do, along with a good selection of eating establishments and shops.
Linlithgow is ideally located for visiting Edinburgh, Scotland's famous capital city which is just seventeen miles away. Open top bus tours are a great way to see the city's attractions and the famous Edinburgh Castle is a must to visit! The Vibrant City of Glasgow with much to offer visitors is also within easy reach and just forty minutes from Linlithgow. For those happy to travel a little further afield, St Andrews is approximately an hour and a half away by car and Stirling is much closer.
Alternatively, stay more locally and enjoy attractions including Blackness Castle, where Hamlet was filmed; The House of Binns; Canal Cruise; Birkhill Clay Mine; Bo'ness Motor Museum; Almond Valley Heritage Centre; Scottish Railway Preservation Society; Kinneil Museum and Roman Fortlet; Go Ape; Hopetoun House and The Forth Bridges to name just a few.
There are beautiful beaches to see, most notably at Elie, Aberdour, Gullane and Seacliff. If you are prepared to put in the miles then Linlithgow is an excellent central base for exploring Scotland's many attractions.

All three stone-built holiday cottages are light and airy and provide stylish spacious self catering accommodation. The cottages have wooden floors and doors throughout and come fully furnished, including bedding and towels.
Each cottage contains a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, flat screen television and DVD player and all cottages have three bedrooms, along with a mezzanine providing separate seating/sleeping accommodation.
The master bedroom in each cottage is en-suite and there is also a separate family bathroom. There is a dining area with seating for eight guests, situated beside the kitchen area and each cottage has a wood-burning stove (basket of logs provided), making them ideal and appealing all year round. The cottages all have WiFi and all have their own grassed area, outside lighting and a hard paved driveway.
Additional information: A welcome basket containing Scottish water, Scottish oatcakes, shortbread, chocolates and other goodies is provided on arrival. There is a play area for children along with a swing park and also a small field adjacent where people can play football and other games. Saturday is the normal changeover day but there may be some flexibility in quieter months.
Please note: Rose cottage has a four poster bed and it's own secluded hot tub.
