Workhouse Cottage is located in a quiet position on the outskirts of the village of Badingham and offers the perfect base for exploring the many delights that Suffolk has to offer. The holiday cottage is comfortable and warm and maintained to a high standard. It benefits from a south facing, partly walled cottage garden with a paved area with outdoor seating and a small lawn - the perfect place for alfresco eating or relaxing on a sunny day.
Badingham is located just north of the historic town of Framlingham and is a pretty village within rural Suffolk. It borders the villages of Dennington, Laxfield and Peasenhall and at its southern tip it includes part of Shawsgate Vineyard. The village has its own 'local' The White Horse which is a five minute drive or twenty minute walk from the cottage.
The beautiful surrounding countryside has an abundance of footpaths just waiting to be explored with good circular walks starting from the cottage front door. The area is also good for cycling and bicycles can be hired locally. Located just ten miles from the sea, Badingham makes an ideal starting point for the exploration of both the Suffolk coastline and its beautiful countryside.
Suffolk offers a multitude of attractions from the historic to the entertaining. Southwold, Minsmere, Walberswick, Dunwich, Snape, Aldeburgh, Halesworth and Woodbridge are each within a half hour's drive of the cottage and are certainly worthy of a visit. Between them they offer everything from nature reserves, concerts, birdwatching, antique shops, art galleries, historic buildings and coastal walks. The excellent Parham Airfield Museum is also close by.
Framlingham is the nearest town to Badingham offering a good selection of shops, traditional pubs, a 12th century castle and a Saturday market. Peasenhall village is only three miles from the cottage and offers good village amenities including a renowned butcher, antique shop, post office and tea room. There are golf clubs locally at Cretingham and Aldeburgh and numerous activities to be enjoyed locally.
