Oak Cottage is situated on the site of a small holding/garden nursery within the lovely Vale of Taunton Deane on the Somerset/Devon border. Adjoining the nature reserve and with the use of a HOT TUB, this is the perfect place to relax and unwind!
Located just outside the village of Langford Budville in open countryside and within walking distance of the pub, this delightful holiday cottage benefits from panoramic views to the Blackdown Hills and Wellington Monument.
The cottage provides a good base for exploring the many attractions that Somerset and Devon have to offer and it is an excellent location for a relaxing holiday. There are walks/cycle rides directly from the front door out onto a one hundred and eighty acre nature reserve which is a mixture of heathland and mature deciduous woodlands, crisscrossed with rambling paths and country lanes. Alternatively, explore the Quantocks and Exmoor by horse back.
Open all year, this is a great place to relax and chill out with the cottage providing warm comfortable accommodation of a high standard where you can escape from crowds, noise and the general chaos of modern life.
Only five miles from the M5 (junction 26) and midway between the north and south coasts, Oak Cottage offers the best of both worlds - it provides you with a peaceful environment where you can unwind and relax, with the added benefit of being within easy access to the many tourist attractions the area has to offer. It is only nine miles from Taunton, three miles from Wellington and twenty six miles from Exeter.
The village pub in Langford Budville is within walking distance and offers good food and lovely open fires and there are other good eating pubs nearby.
Children are made very welcome and there is plenty to keep them occupied with toys and a play area with swings, games, slides, climbing frame, see-saw and plenty of space to play. A cot and high chair can be provided if required.
For the adults you can relax on the sun loungers, enjoy a BBQ and alfresco dining or relax in the six person hot tub which is located in its own summer house near to the cottage and has shared use with one other holiday cottage all year around. There is also a small swimming pool for guests enjoyment during the summer months.

Oak Cottage is a cosy and homely holiday cottage that is ideal for couples as a romantic getaway or for small families as it has a king size bedroom and an additional bunk bed room that can accommodate up to three children. The cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard with everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday at any time of the year. You have the use of a hot tub all year round, a small pool in the garden during summer months, a whirlpool bath to relax in and a lovely log burner to curl up in front of on those more chilly nights.
Accommodation is all on one level and comprises:
Warm, comfortable open plan lounge with two settees, wide screen colour television with full package Sky, DVD player, video, Hi-fi, books, games and a log burner which provides the perfect place to relax after an exciting day exploring the area. There is also a large patio window to the front garden with water feature, table/chairs and a lovely view of open countryside and the Blackdown hills.
Well equipped kitchen/diner with range style combination electricity and gas cooker with gas hobs, griddle, two ovens and grill. A dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, sandwich toaster, coffee machine, iron and ironing board are also provided.
Dining area with a large window looking out over fields to the Blackdown Hills.
Comfortable king sized bed (linen provided), colour television, wardrobe, drawers and a window which overlooks the secluded private side garden.
Children's bedroom with bunk bed (the bottom bunk is a double bed so the room will take up to three children) and toys/games.
Spacious bathroom with Whirlpool Bath, sink and a shower over the bath.
Outside: To the side of the property is a fenced, sunny, secluded garden which is a haven for birds and wildlife. It is safe for children and perfect for alfresco dining. There is also a sandpit/paddling pool, washing line, table with parasol and four chairs. The mature cottage garden is full of fragrant honeysuckle and rosemary and beautiful rambling roses. There is a parking space right outside the property and there is further parking onsite. Children are made very welcome with toys, games, a play area with swings, slides, see-saw, climbing frame and plenty of space to play.
Additional information: Cots and high chairs can be provided. Price includes full bed linen with duvets, towels, tea towels, electricity, gas, logs for the fire and use of the Hot Tub. Owners live on site so are on hand to help sort out any problems then and there. In low season there are last minute special offers.
