The Granary is one of two delightful 5 Star holiday cottages that provide a perfect country retreat within the unspoilt countryside of North Wales. Sitting at over one thousand feet, the cottages afford fantastic uninterrupted views spanning over thirty miles of wonderful scenery.
Although peaceful and secluded, the cottages are easily accessible from the A5 and centrally positioned for exploring the Snowdonia National Park, along with the many attractions of North Wales including: Chester; Ruthin; Llangollen; Snowdonia; Harlech; Betws-y-Coed and Anglesey - all within easy reach.
Both holiday cottages have been renovated and furnished to a very high standard and benefit from the shared use of a hot tub and sauna - a perfect way to wind down at the end of an exciting day exploring the area! They are completely separate from each other, are isolated from any neighbours or road noise and detached with their own private gardens and parking spaces. Guests are also welcome to use the owner's good sized lake where you can paddle, swim or use the two kayaks or canoes to explore the lake fully. There is also a diving jetty at the lakes deepest point (twelve feet) and the lake is fenced off for safety and just a field away from the cottages.
From the front doorstep you can enjoy beautiful walks including the Pilgrims Way, a Bronzed Aged hill fort to climb and a whole network of footpaths providing both long and short walks where you will rarely see another person. You can also explore the area by bike along the winding lanes or alternatively just sit back and take in the wonderful scenery or enjoy a spot of bird watching.
The fascinating town of Bala is just a fifteen minute drive away. At the head of its famous lake, it provides numerous activities to enjoy including white water rafting, swimming, sailing, fishing, wind-surfing, riding, mountain bike hire and canoeing, along with the narrow gauge lakeside steam railway. There are also excellent shops including two supermarkets where you can stock up on provisions and many independent shops, along with plenty of good eating establishments including pubs, restaurants and takeaways.
The local pub/restaurant (The Goat) is less than a ten minute drive away from the cottages and offers a warm welcome and a good atmosphere. There is also a local garage/shop within a ten minute drive.

Thank you both for such a wonderful break, what an amazing location with everything you could ever want, so peaceful so relaxing , will come back but next time will bring the family!! Hope you can cope with them, Patrick (aged 12) will love the lake, especially the slide and if he can bring his crosser would be fantastic, have never felt so relaxed, you have something very special here, you just seem to know what people need, everything catered for - don’t want to go home!! I really feel like I’ve had break away but not missed creature comforts I feel this is the most idyllic place I’ve ever visited thanks again!! THANK YOU Phil and Joe (from Brum) – celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. PS had to use your local mechanic for our van he and his son were brill and cheap, thanks for the info in your information portfolio – great not to be ripped off; he spoke very highly of you.

Dear Linda and Lawrence,
I just wanted to say what a fabulous time we had staying in Granary Cottage. I only wish we could have stayed longer but unfortunately we had to come back to reality and work! The cottage was just so cosy and homely in such an idyllic setting. Such a great place to get away from the city. We loved Trig the owl too! I am now trying to work out with Kris when we can get time off work next and come again. Hopefully it won't be too long!
Thank you.
Kind regards, LW.

Dear Linda and family,
We're missing the Granary already! Thank you so much for a really beautiful and relaxing location...the renovation of the cottage is superb and really shows how much time you must have taken. You have certainly thought about everyone's needs and provided a great range of facilities, including the scones on arrival! We do hope to return next year, possibly during the Autumn so that we can light the odd fire. The Visitor's comments book all say the same thing - it is a delightful place and truly romantic and relaxing. (By the way we don't think a dishwasher is necessary - we washed up together and talked to each other!!!)
Best wishes and continued success,
Claire and John Nurse

Linda and Lawrence,
Just found 2 minutes, after a hectic return to work, to send you a note. Judy and I thought your cottage was one of the loveliest we've encountered - and we've seen a lot! - and certainly the best view. Fantastic job with the renovation.
Thanks for the welcome and the scones, plus the eggs, of course. If you ever do an ad on the net or wherever, you can quote me!
We returned via the route to Wrexham, as you suggested and saw the most sensational scenery. Like being in North America! Much quicker, too.
Good luck with the other cottage.
Short breaks available between October and May at £70 per night Mon-Thurs and £75 Friday, Saturday and Sunday - min 2 nights. Prices incl heating, electricity, sauna and hot tub use; Sky TV and wi-fi.
