Scented honeysuckle and old roses ramble over this very pretty stone 18th Century Woodmans cottage which is located half a mile from Dinas Mawddwy in a beautiful hamlet within the Snowdonia National Park. The cottage is in a delightful position standing beside a pretty tumbling mountain river and waterfall and just yards from where it meets the Upper Dovey river flowing in rocky gorges so completely free from any flooding.
There is plenty to do and see in this lovely area including horse riding, walking, fishing, canoeing, sailing and golf. You can visit the beautiful Castles of Chirk, Powys and Caernarfon whilst the wonderful lakes Vyrnwy and Bala are about twenty minutes drive away. Enjoy the Snowdonia range plus the North Wales coast - it's all here for you to explore and enjoy.
Dolgellau is about seven miles North West and the coastal resorts of Barmouth and Aberdovey are just 12-15 miles away. The Dovey river has shingley shores, mossy banks and children and adults love it. In autumn Sea Trout and Salmon leap up the waterfall to higher spawning grounds.
Spectacular scenery surrounds this cosy holiday cottage with green and purple high mountains dotted with sheep; ancient woodlands with badgers and pheasants; and winding ferny lanes following rocky flowing rivers in secluded valleys. A truly tranquil beautiful area which also benefits from being just half a mile from a pub/hotels and one and a half miles from a shop, petrol station and cafe.
A perfect haven to relax at any time of the year, whether during the colourful days of Spring and Autumn, the balmy summer evening or cosy winter nights in front of a roaring open fire.

Accommodation comprises:
Cosy sitting room with lots of original features including oak beams and an open feature stone & oak fireplace where you can relax in front of a roaring fire after an exciting day exploring the area. This room also offers a colour TV with some satellite channels, video, CD/radio.
Upstairs there is a very pretty double bedroom with 'antique' brass double bed and also a pretty twin bedded room with two single beds. There is also a double deluxe sofa bed downstairs for additional guest sleeping (in addition to the floral suit displayed on the advert).
Large shower and bathroom.
Pretty little front garden with seating.
At rear river/waterfall terrace with garden furniture and BBQ, all safely enclosed above the river and perfect for alfreso dining.
Additional information: Economy 7 heating throughout with extra heaters as necessary (Economy 7 electric is free and the remainder is by coin meter). Open fire in sitting room with some fuel provided (additional fuel for fire can be purchased at local store). Off road parking.
