The Llanfendigaid Estate has been owned by the Nanney-Wynn family and their forebears since the earliest records began in AD 1241 and it is home to Dove Cottage. An estate map from 1780 shows that the original estate stretched along the Welsh coast from Harlech in the north to Aberystwyth in the south. However, since the collapse of many of the great British estates in the 1920s, Llanfendigaid Estate has gradually reduced in size to a small patch in the Snowdonia National Park on one of the most attractive stretches of the Welsh coastline.

The current owner, William Nanney-Wynn Garton-Jones, now operates the main Estate house and the surrounding cottages as a top quality catered and self-catering holiday establishment, complete with 28' x 14' indoor heated swimming pool together with access to one of the more secluded beaches in the area.

Llanfendigaid was built and occupied by the Nanney-Wynn family for over eight centuries, Llanfendigaid (which translates as "Parish of the Blessed") occupies a superb position half a mile from the sea in the southern end of Snowdonia National Park near the famous mountain Cader Idris.

The cottage is surrounded by three acres of shared grounds and three hundred acres of farmland with magnificent views of beautiful scenery - and there is access to a sand and shingle beach nearby and shared use (with Llanfendigaid and the CL) of a 28’ x 14’ indoor heated swimming pool.

You can buy vegetables from the Estate vegetable garden when available and the owner runs Countryside courses on Tinkering, Foraging and Basket Weaving.
