DolGwril Cottage was built in 1873 and is a traditional stone self catering holiday cottage overlooking the bridge over the River Gwril in the heart of the peaceful village of Llwyngwril, situated between Dolgellau and Tywyn. It is two minutes walk to the bus stop, five minutes walk to the railway station which connects to Shrewsbury and Birmingham and ten minutes walk along the river to the beach.
The cottage has a view of the fields and across the sea to the Lleyn Peninsula and Bardsey Island. There is seating outside in a shared garden. Llwyngwril is a charming and peaceful coastal village situated in the southern part of Snowdonia National Park and enjoying panoramic views of Cardigan Bay. It has numerous amenities for a small village: railway and bus services, church, shops, post office, pub, bistro (who also supply takeaway food), occasional music venue and a newly refurbished children’s playground. Also within wandering distance are the remains of an Iron Age hill fort, evidence of Quaker history & a bit further on the ancient church at Llangelynin.
The beach is a mixture of sand, stones and rock pools but glorious safe sandy beaches with dunes are only a five minute drive away. Occasionally schools of Dolphins, Harbour Porpoise and Seals can be seen around the coast.
Snowdonia National Park has such a wealth and diversity of wildlife and breathtaking scenery. Enjoy Cader Idris, the Mawddach Estuary, Cregennen Lakes and Talyllyn Lake.

What a lovely cottage. we had a great time even though we only stayed for two nights. The cottage is warm and comfortable. The welcome pack was a lovely touch too, totally unexpected as we were only a short stay, so thank you. (Stowbridge, West Midlands)
