Glan-y-Rhyd is a charming traditional single storey two hundred year old holiday cottage that provides accommodation for up to four guests in two bedrooms. The cottage is in a breathtaking position overlooking the sparkling clear water of the river Conwy in the heart of the Conwy valley. Located in the Snowdonia National Park within North Wales, this delightful stone holiday cottage is available for holiday rental and ideal for couples, friends or families.
The cottage is in an enviable peaceful position, on the edge of the popular village of Betws-y-Coed, well known as great place for outdoor activities and a good base from which to explore the many attractions that the Snowdonia National Park has to offer. The village also offers pubs, restaurants and shops.
Glan-y-Rhyd Cottage has recently been sympathetically restored to provide modern conveniences, whilst retaining authentic and traditional charm. The cottage has been tastefully furnished and provides a great place for a romantic break and some peace and solitude. However, with two double bedrooms (at opposite ends of the property), it can comfortably accommodate up to four guest's. Glan-y-Rhyd translates to 'on the shore', which reflects the stunning views from all of the main rooms that overlook the river and beyond down the valley to the mountain.
Betws-y-Coed sits in the heart of the Conwy Valley and is a pretty village and a very popular tourist destination due to its many attractions. It is ideally positioned off of the A55 and easy to reach both by train and road. Being so close to Betws-y-Coed train station (fifteen minutes by foot through delightful countryside) it is not essential to have a car.
The cottage is surrounded by mountains and forest and opposite is the popular Betws-y-Coed golf club. There is also a well known 'pool' at front of the cottage which tends to hold salmon and sea trout (depending on time of year). Guest's are able to enjoy its use along with some other spectacular river fishing in the area (including a private secluded lake, with boat, offering wild brown trout) - all subject to availability and advanced booking - please speak to the owner re charges and details.
North Wales contains some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country, ranging from the mountains, lakes, forests and streams of Snowdonia to the sandy beaches and cliffs on the coast.
Glan-y-Rhyd cottage is in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, with the pretty sandy beaches and bays on the island of Anglesey and the Lleyn Penninsula, just a short drive away. It is an ideal base for walking as well as a wide range of other outdoor activities including climbing, mountain biking and canoeing to name just a few. Many wonderful walks start from the village and there are numerous forest and valley walks in the area with marked paths.

Open plan living area. The kitchen has traditional butler sink, washing machine, tumble dryer and Gas cooker and hob. There is a log burner, television, DVD player and DVD player in the sitting area and a dining table and chairs.
Bathroom containing WC, wash-basin and bath with shower.
Outside: The cottage benefits from having its own front garden bordered by the river to the front and there is a farmers field to the sides and rear.
