Bodorwel is located in upper Penrhyndeudraeth on the Southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park. This charming quarryman's cottage dates back to 1851 and provides character holiday accommodation for up to four guests in two bedrooms.
In a great location, you can sit and watch the unique Ffestiniog Railway go by from the house and its lovely mature garden. The railway provides a wonderful nostalgic way of exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside whilst travelling on a real steam train.
The village of Penrhyndeudraeth is an ideal location for exploring Snowdonia and sits in an enviable position overlooking glorious mountains and the Glaslyn Estuary. The surrounding area offers plenty of things to see and do. There are beautiful beaches to visit such as Borth y Gest, Black Rock Sands and Harlech beach, all with something different to offer. Portmeirion, a delightful village and one of Wales' premier tourist attractions is just two miles away with its interesting little shops and eating establishments. The harbour town of Porthmadog is also three miles and offers craft shops and restaurants.
Other attractions within the area include: Llechwedd Slate Caverns where you can explore the old slate mines by tram or a cable hauled shuttle; Greenfield Forest Park near caernarfon - an eco based family theme park and Tree Top Adventure in Betws-y-Coed for a high wire adventure.
There is also much to offer those who enjoy walking with lovely walks that can be enjoyed from the cottage front door including the Gwaith Powdwr Nature reserve, Penrhyn estuary and forest walks.
From the tidal estuaries to the mountain summits and the historic villages to the unspoilt woodlands - you will never be short of things to do in the Snowdonia National Park.

Formerly a quarryman's cottage, Bodorwel offers the following facilities:
Two good sized double bedrooms each with a window with a view, wardrobe, bedside tables and lights.
There is heating in both rooms for those winter nights.
Showeroom with WC, wash basin.
Lounge with seating for five guests, Freeview television, DVD player, wood burning stove and Hi-fi with iPod docking and selection of CDs.
Kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, washing machine, toaster, kettle, fridge and table with four chairs.
Outside: The raised garden with table and chairs is the ideal place for alfresco dining whilst watching the steam trains go by.
Additional information: Heating is via a log burning stove within an inglenook fireplace and night storage heaters. Bedding is provided, but please bring your own towels. Travel cot and highchair available on request. A 10% discount card is provided for travel on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways. Bodorwel is a pet free cottage and non smoking. Parking is available for one car in front of the house, on-street parking is also available.
