Bod Hyfryd is a delightful terrace holiday cottage that sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms. This comfortable cottage has a well equipped kitchen/diner and a homely lounge with a log burning stove. Situated in the heart of the peaceful village of Penmachno, Bod Hyfryd was built in 1865 and is a traditional, stone cottage that has been modernised throughout to provide all the facilities you should need to make your holiday as comfortable as possible.
The village of Penmachno is a perfect base from which to explore both the Snowdonia National Park and the Conwy Valley. It is the main village in the Machno Valley, a tranquil place tucked away from the hustle and bustle of modern day life. In the village the houses are clustered around a five-arched stone bridge and there is a village pub serving real ale just down the road from Bod Hyfryd, open from Wednesday to Sunday. The local towns of Llanwrst (eight miles) and Betws-y-Coed (four miles) offer a good range of shops and restaurants.
Penmachno sits in the Snowdonia National Park with the mountains just a short drive from the village. There are spectacular walks to be enjoyed with something to suit all energy levels from a gentle stroll to a challenging climb. The drying room, log burner and hot bath provide a warm welcome to return home to of an evening.
The Machno valley is home to the Penmachno Trail, a challenging mountain biking trail within the Gwydyr Forest. Kayaking can be enjoyed locally including two kilometres of grade five white water through the Fairy Glen. For those seeking adrenalin, a high ropes centre (Tree Tops Adventure) is just a short drive away and the riding centre at Gwydyr Stables offers horse riding and pony trekking.
North Wales is known for its strong historical past with Welsh and English castles; copper, gold and slate mines; Roman ruins and ancient churches; standing stones and historical towns to explore. Llandudno and Conwy on the north coast and the Llyn Peninsula and Porthmadog on the west coast also provide great alternative days out.

Accommodation comprises:
Open plan lounge with wood burning stove, flat screen television, FreeSat box and DVD player.
Kitchen/diner with electric stove, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and microwave.
Utility/drying room with washing machine, tumble dryer, sink and a second toilet. Muddy boots and outdoor clothes can be stored here.
Upstairs are three comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom with shower over bath, WC and wash basin. The first bedroom has a king-size bed, the second is a twin bedroom with two single beds and the third has bunkbeds.
Outside: There is a large secure shed for storage of bicycles or kayaks. There is a back yard as well as a grass garden. Garden furniture and charcoal barbecue provided.
Additional information: The cottage has full central heating which is included in the price. Towels and bedding are supplied. Short breaks available off season (three and four nights). Bod Hyfryd is non-smoking. One well behaved dog is allowed.
