Birchope Byre is an idyllic peaceful retreat in the grounds of the owners former farmhouse.
Situated half a mile up a farm track on a hillside surrounded by rolling farmland, the cottage offers stunning views from the paved and gravel garden which is surrounded by shrubs and flowers - the perfect place to relax and unwind.
This recently converted stone byre with slate roof has been renovated to the highest standard whilst retaining lots of original character with oak beams, hand crafted oak and elm furniture and fittings, exposed stone wall and Cotswold flagstones in the kitchen/dining area.
The cosy log burning stove and full central heating make Birchope Byre ideal at any time of year - whether you are looking for a family holiday, a romantic break, or just somewhere to relax this is the ideal place.
Situated in the South Shropshire Hills in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Ratlinghope nestles in a lush valley between the Long Mynd a spectacular area of National Trust heather moorland, and the Stiperstones - a dramatic ridge of rugged quartzite. Such a location is ideally placed for restful holidays or energetic activities.
Its position is excellent for visiting Shrewsbury to the north, Ludlow to the south (with its fine selection of restaurants), Ironbridge Gorge to the east and the hills of Wales to the west.
For visitors arriving without vehicles, either on foot, bicycle or public transport, we are ideally placed for exploring the region via the Shropshire Hills Shuttles, with a main stop at Bridges, just down the lane from Birchope.
