Courtyard house sleeps up to six guests in three ensuite bedrooms and is positioned on the Scottish border between Roxburghshire and North Northumberland. It is a beautifully refurbished wing of a large Edwardian farmhouse on Holefield Farm, offering self catering holiday accommodation that is near to the towns of Kelso and Coldstream - an ideal base for exploring both the Scottish Borders and Northumberland.
The farm house and Courtyard House are set away from the working farm steading, in large tranquil gardens surrounded by trees, which create the perfect location for a self catering holiday whether it be relaxing, out and about exploring, or on-the-go activity.
There is plenty to do and see in this lovely area. For those who enjoy shopping, a short drive will take you to the local Borders market towns, crafts, local arts and even Edinburgh and Newcastle (just over one hours drive away or a short train ride from Berwick station).
There are plenty of wonderful walks for both the more experienced walker, or those looking for a more gentle stroll. Within a ten minute drive you will find the river tweed where you can enjoy fishing and there are many golf courses in the area, including the championship ‘Roxburgh’.
Children will find plenty to amuse themselves with the beach, Jedburgh Deer Park and Harestanes Visitor Centre being just a half hour drive away and the public swimming pool at Berwick has a wave machine and flume. The pathways surrounding Kelso are accessible for horse riders and cyclists and there is a cross country schooling course on the farm and guests are welcome to bring their horses on holiday (by prior arrangement) as grazing can be provided.
With many historical buildings to visit including the Border Abbeys, Alnwick Castle, Mary Queen of Scots House in Jedburgh and Floors Castle by Kelso, you will not be short of things to do on your holiday.

Courtyard House was renovated in 2008 and is awaiting grading by the Scottish Borders Tourist board. It is already well received for providing quality self catering accommodation in Kelso and has been specifically designed to accommodate up to six guests.
Many of the original features such as the fireplaces in the bedrooms and stonework have been preserved and whilst Courtyard House is an attached wing of the farm house, it is set within it’s own private lawn garden and surrounded by rhododendrons & trees. It also has spacious private parking reached by a winding driveway
Accommodation:
Down stairs a spacious entrance hall with cloakroom leads to a comfortable living room with gas stove and television, along with the dining room and kitchen.
Upstairs there are three en-suite twin bedrooms, two of which can be made up into super king beds. Two of the ensuites have large baths with showers over them and the other has a shower cubical.
Additional information: Courtyard House is non-smoking and dogs are not allowed in the house, but welcome in the grounds. A cot is available for hire for £15 per stay, with linen and a blanket. The house can be booked for 3, 4, or 7 night stays. Friday and/or Monday changeover.
