Ty Poeth offers a choice of five holiday cottages that are in a unique position within the heart of Wales. Surrounded by five acres of garden with lawns overlooking the Dyfi Valley, the cottages sit on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and provide a peaceful retreat from which to relax.
The semi-detached holiday cottages have been refurbished to a high standard and sit in an elevated position in the pastarol and afforested hill country of mid Wales. They each enjoy the communal garden area with planted borderlands providing a wide variety of plants and shrubs and a haven for wildlife - the garden is a perfect place for children to explore and play - a real `Secret Garden'!
This is an area where the River Dyfi and the Aran Fawddwy mountain range meet and lead out towards the beautiful coastal resorts of Cardigan Bay.
The small market town of Machynlleth is just a short drive away. A busy place steeped in history, it is home to the world famous Centre for Alternative Technology and a leisure centre and swimming pool. Just beyond Machynlleth lies the magical legends of King Arthur, in the tourist attraction, King Arthurs Labyrinth - a 'must' for all ages. Both the beach and Artists Valley (as the name suggests) are a fifteen minute drive and the University town of Aberystwyth is within easy driving distance as are the wonderful beaches of Aberdovey and Borth which are both close by.
The area is a wonderful location for walking and bird watching (it is noted for its Red Kites) with over one hundred and fifty species in the garden area alone. The gardens at Ty Poeth were created a hundred years ago and there are four separate lawns which are perfect for picnics on a sunny day and for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Paths through the woodlands and along terraces are ideal for strolls or as places for children to play and there is a pub within one mile and a shop within four miles.
