The Mains of Taymouth offers an exceptional selection of luxury four and five star holiday houses and cottages that nestle on a one hundred and twenty acre private estate in the delightful little village of Kenmore.

Kenmore is a delightful village with its origins dating back to the 16th Century. It provides a beautiful setting which has been unspoilt by time and is just a short stroll over the bridge from the holiday cottages. Locally you can you can enjoy a contemporary wining and dining experience in the fabulous Mains of Taymouth Courtyard restaurant, a stunning new brasserie and bar, serving delicious Scottish cuisine in a fantastic setting on the shores of Loch Tay or eat out at the Kenmore Hotel which is located in the village and reported to be the oldest inn in Scotland!
The cottages are centrally situated, under two hours’ drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh, one hour from Dundee and only forty five minutes from Perth, making them an ideal base for exploring the many delights that this area has to offer.
There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy with world class River Tay and Loch Tay fishing, horse riding at the adjacent riding and trekking centre (livery available), cycling, rock climbing, game shooting, stalking, water sports, spectacular walks and adventure activities, all amidst Highland Perthshire’s finest scenery. For those who enjoy golf, you can benefit from a discount on the Estate's own Kenmore Golf Course and wildlife and bird enthusiasts will be impressed by the astonishing array of animals, birds and plants in this beautiful diverse habitat. Mains of Taymouth offers a choice of eleven individual holiday houses which are all equipped to the very highest standard and include central heating, wood burners and everything you could possibly need for a special and memorable holiday. The comprehensive and delightful choice of luxury cottages varies from a cosy romantic cottage for two to a luxurious cottage which accommodates parties of ten in five en-suite bedrooms. Archway Cottage (see internal photos on top row) sleeps four guests and offers 5 star accommodation as follows:
Ground floor - Comfortable lounge with leather sofas, wood burning stove, digital television, bright, fully fitted designer dining kitchen overlooking the wishing well and courtyard and a bathroom with sunken bath and overhead shower.
First floor - Master king size bed and en suite shower room. Spacious twin bedded room.
Garden - Enclosed garden and patio to the front and BBQ patio by the wishing well in the pretty courtyard to the rear.
This cottage offers a haven for those with allergies with synthetic bedding provided. Sorry - no pets allowed in this cottage.
