Thorn Cottage is a Georgian fisherman's cottage, built of stone in 1709 and is located up the hill from the harbour of the picturesque little village of Solva, offering lovely views over St Brides Bay. Solva is located on the beautiful West Wales coastline and is the jewel of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. It is perfect for those who enjoy walking, sailing or who simply want to relax amongst beautiful coastal scenery and enjoy browsing the little shops, galleries or enjoying a meal in one of the pubs or restaurants.
Standing in a deep valley gouged out by water, Solva is surrounded by beautiful scenery and its sheltered position makes it popular for pleasure craft and a few local fishermen which can be seen bobbing on the water. People visit time and time again to enjoy its pure beauty with its wealth of flora, bird life, beaches and spectacular scenery together with all the activities you can enjoy locally including kayaking, fishing, sailing and golf (to name just a very few). However, the greatest delight for most people are the award winning beautiful beaches. Not only does Solva have its own wonderful beach but Newgale and Whitesands are only a short drive away.
For those who enjoy walking, you are in for a real treat with the 181 mile long Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which passes near to the cottage. You can walk for miles and take in the breathtaking cliff scenery interspersed with beaches and private coves.
The Pembrokeshire National Park offers a pristine coastal environment, with lovely clean clear waters, making it ideal for water sports. Not only do the visitors and locals enjoy the waters but the porpoises, dolphins and gannets also do and can often be seen feeding out in the bay. You may also be lucky enough to catch sight of the buzzards soaring above, the choughs and the secretive peregrines!

Reviews and Testimonials for Thorn Cottage
It is a lovely cottage, we loved the fact that it is maintained as a home and not just an empty shell. Personal effects around the place are
lovely. The dog loved the garden.
