Converted from 18th century farm buildings, the Old Byre offers superb holiday accommodation ideal for a couple. Relax and unwind in a wonderful, peaceful setting.
The cottage is surrounded by some of the most spectacular countryside in the Peak District National Park. You can explore lush, tranquil dales and wild romantic highlands on foot, horse back or by car.
The Manifold Trail which runs below Swainsley Farm (with easy access for pushchairs or wheelchair users) offers just over nine miles of excellent cycling. Fishing, water sports, pony trekking and cycle hire are all available locally.
The less adventurous may just want to walk along the banks of the Manifold River, stroll through fields, or visit some of our pretty villages with their lovely old churches and ancient inns. There are village shops close-by and some wonderful places to eat.
For those looking for excitement, Alton Towers is within fifteen miles as is Matlock Bath and Chatsworth. There are many National Trust properties, gardens and country houses in the area just waiting to be explored.

Facing south with wonderful views of the Manifold Valley and the hills surrounding Swainsley Farm, the Old Byre is ideal for couples wanting comfort and luxury. The cottage offers a very high standard of accommodation combining modern facilities with lovely original features and beamed ceilings.
The Old Byre is surely one of the most romantic cottages in the Peak District.
Downstairs there is an open-plan sitting room, dining and kitchen with terracotta floors and attractive rugs. The cottage is fully equipped with a washer/dryer, dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, fridge and freezer.
A flight of open tread stairs leads to a galleried landing off of which is a delightful double bedroom with stunning views. The landing provides access to a new delux bathroom with overbath shower, handbasin, WC and towel rail.
Immediately outside the cottage is a courtyard with garden furniture and uninterrupted views of the Manifold Valley.
