Ivy cottage is a luxurious holiday cottage that is located in the picturesque village of Winster within the Peak District. It can accommodate up to seven guests (plus two infants in cots) but is equally as popular with couples and smaller groups.
This beautiful detached stone house offers spacious accommodation and dates back to the early 1800’s. It affords a beautiful south facing garden where guests can relax whilst enjoying the lovely views over surrounding the countryside.
A short stroll takes you into the heart of the village which was formerly an ancient lead-mining village dating back as far as the doomsday book (1086). Winster with its busy social calendar of events, is an attractive village with many medieval buildings reflecting the hey-day of its mining legacy. There are many narrow and intriguing pathways that lead up and around the village which has a National Trust Historic Market Hall, two excellent pubs, two churches, a well stocked village shop and post office, playing fields, basketball, tennis courts and several playground areas.
The Peak District National Park is one of the country's best loved landscapes with its wild heather moorlands, gentle limestone dales and dramatic gritstone edges. With over five hundred acres of rolling countryside to explore, it has many excellent walks and spectacular natural backdrops. There are also a wide range of attractions in the surrounding area including: Bakewell; Matlock; Heights of Abraham; Buxton; Chatsworth House; Carsington Water and the High Peak Trail to name just a few.

Ivy Cottage has recently undergone extensive renovations to an extremely high standard and provides the following accommodation and facilities:
Ground floor:
Large entrance hall on the ground floor which is ideal for coats and boots.
Games room with patio door access to the outside. The games room has two sofas and beanbags, television, DVD player, Playstation 2 with games and free wireless internet.
Beautiful beamed lounge with leather settees, large flat screen television (with Sky Freesat + and DVD home cinema system) and glowing log effect gas stove.
Well equipped kitchen with hob, double oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washer, tumble dryer, and coffee maker.
Leading from the kitchen is a lovely dining room with a solid oak floor, large oak and leather dining suite, coal effect gas stove, and Hi-Fi with iPod docking station.
Sunny garden room with sofa and chair, Sky Freesat and a downstairs WC.
First floor:
Large double bedroom with a double bed, oak furniture and ensuite shower room with WC. There is also Freeview television.
Twin bedroom with two single beds.
Family bedroom with a super king sized bed, single bed, oak furniture, SKY Freesat and lovely views over the gardens.
Large deluxe bathroom with travertine stone tiles, double ended bath, double size shower with body jets, underfloor heating, twin sinks on a solid oak washstand and WC.
Outside: there are extensive landscaped gardens with two spacious decking areas with ample garden furniture, BBQ, lighting and views of the gardens and the lovely surrounding countryside. There is also a large gravel driveway with ample parking for several vehicles.
Additional information: Welcome basket, bed linen, towels (one bath, one hand towel per person), central heating, gas and electricity all included in the price. Cot and high chair available on prior request. Ample off street parking. Excellent walking from the front door. Sorry no pets and no smoking.

We found Ivy Cottage to be excellent! The furnishings were superb, of the highest quality, the amenities almost without equal, cleanliness could not be faulted. In all it is a “Home” of the highest standard. Nothing has been left to chance. Many hotel suites would struggle to compare. Simply top quality all the way.
Fantastic accommodation! What a wonderful place to stay in. Managed four good walks and several interesting visits to local attractions. All this and returning each evening to the most beautiful & comfortable holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in.
We needed a place to switch off, unwind and recharge and boy did we find it at Ivy Cottage. The fittings and decor are fantastic, the best compliment I can give is that we want to pick it up and take it home with us.
The cottage was by far the best we’ve stayed in yet. Everything you could possibly need was provided for. The gardens were beautiful and perfect for two little boys to explore. None of us are ready to go home. Thank you for providing us with a fabulous cottage.
