Laird's Cottage is a lovely Five Star Gold holiday cottage that is located in a peaceful secluded position on the edge of the little Northumberland village of Burradon, near to the Northumberland National Park. Sleeping up to six guests in three bedrooms, the cottage is ideal for friends or families who want to explore the miles of unspoilt countryside and many attractions of the area.
Modern conveniences perfectly combined with beautiful original features provide a warm welcome and a great base for a holiday at any time of the year. The cottage affords incredible views over the neighbouring hills and fields and is surrounded by a lovely large private garden, along with woods and fields which are home to a variety of wildlife including deer, foxes, hedgehogs, red squirrels, owls, pheasants and grouse which have all been spotted. There is a farm approximately three hundred metres away with sheep in the neighbouring fields.
For those who enjoy walking, there are plenty of picturesque walks within the area including those that explore the National Park. Cycling too is enjoyable with the Pennine Cycleway accessible nearby and Thrunton Woods providing miles of tracks and trails for mountain bikes. The River Coquet offers excellent salmon and trout fishing opportunities and golfers can enjoy a game at Rothbury Golf Club.
There is plenty to see and do within the area including historic castles along the Northumberland Heritage coastline. Alnwick (with the award winning Alnwick Garden), Alnmouth, Bamburgh, Cragside (with the National Trust owned Cragside House), Amble, Craster, the Farne Islands, Seahouses, the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Hadrian's Wall, Morpeth, Wooler and the Scottish Borders are all easily accessible and within a short drive. And for those who want to just relax, the beautiful sandy beaches of the Northumberland Coast provide the perfect place for a lazy day.

Entrance hall with log burning stove, providing a warm welcome.
Kitchen fully equipped with double fridge, double freezer, dishwasher, microwave, eye level oven, five ring gas hob, washing machine/tumble dryer, breadmaker and coffee machine. There is also a farmhouse table and chairs for dining.
Living area with comfortable seating, CD player and radio, television, DVD player and French doors leading out to the rear patio.
WC with wash basin.
Lounge with working cast-iron open fire and range, leather settees, television with Freeview, DVD player and stereo.
Two double bedrooms with super king-size pine beds. One double bedroom is en-suite and the other is adjacent to the family bathroom.
Twin bedroom with pine single beds.

Outside: There is a very large garden and large paved patio areas with outdoor table, seats and BBQ. Childrens play equipment including slide, swing, etc. Parking for four plus cars.
