Tithe Hill farm is home to two charming holiday cottages and is located in North Northumberland, conveniently on the England/Scotland border and just three miles from the small village of Cornhill-on-Tweed, the 'first and last' village in England.
This family run arable farm sits in a rural tranquil position between the Cheviot Hills and the River Tweed, with the site of the last great battle at Flodden Field in 1513, between the English and the Scots, within easy walking distance.
There are a wide range of activities to enjoy in the local area including horseriding near Ford village which is just a five to ten minute drive away.
The Scottish Borders offers excellent golfing opportunities with a whole range of varied golf courses. The Roxburghe championship course is fifteen to twenty minutes away and the nearest course (The Hirsel) is at Coldstream and just seven minutes by car. There are an additional twenty two golf courses participating in the "Freedom of the Fairways" package.
This beautiful area offers plenty of places of pure outstanding natural beauty, which can be explored by foot. The Cheviot Hills, Saint Cuthberts Way (a famous walk, part of which is from Lindisfarne to Yetholm) and the Southern Upland Way all provide excellent walking opportunities. Fishing can also be enjoyed locally with the River Tweed just three minutes drive away and several lochs for trout fishing nearby. There are also a number of cycle routes in the area and the roads are very quiet for cycling and driving.
The farm is nearby to many historical houses, gardens and castles and the coastline is also within easy reach and ideal for bird watching or seal spotting.

Cherry Cottage sleeps up to eight people and is all on one level, providing self catering accommodation ideal for a group, family or couple.
There is a sitting-room with log burning stove and door leading out to the large enclosed private garden. A small hallway leads from the sitting room to the shower room (WC, sink and Cubicle shower) and one double bedroom. The sitting room also leads onto a well equipped kitchen with dining table. The original kitchen range makes a delightful feature which can be lit to warm the kitchen in winter.
There are 2 utility rooms which house the dishwasher, washing machine, microwave oven and an extra sink. A passage way takes you from the kitchen to the other bathroom and bedrooms: a single room with door leading onto the garden; a twin room and a family room (with double and single bed) which is accessed from the twin room. All bedrooms have windows looking on to the garden and are spacious and brightly decorated.
Cherry Cottage has night storage heating with the addition of oil filled radiators as well as a log/coal fire (the coal and logs are supplied free). It has colour television, DVD players, fridge freezers, microwave ovens, electric ovens, dishwasher, washing machine, ironing facilities and washing lines in garden. Cots and high chair are available on request and beds are prepared for guests arrival. Towels are not included but can be hired separately and basic shopping can be put in the cottage for your arrival (this would need to be prior arranged).
There are private well kept and enclosed gardens where one can enjoy a leisurely lunch or evening meal and garden furniture is provided and there is private parking.
Additional informaiton: The holiday cottage is open all year round available for weekly lets and short breaks. Delicious home cooked meals can be delivered to the door, if arranged with the owner. The Cottage is fully double glazed. Pets/dogs are welcome.
