Special Memories is an ideal retreat for couples situated in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, located just four miles from Scarborough and the North Yorkshire Coastline.
Situated in the twin villages of East and West Ayton this is a superb location for those who enjoy walking with plenty of beautiful walks starting from the doorstep. You can wander along the banks of the river Derwent through the ancient woodlands and meadows of Forge Valley, past the ruins of Ayton Castle.
Nearby are the spectacular North York Moors, Dalby Forest and the Heritage coastline. The traditional seaside resort of Scarborough is just ten minutes by car (or bus) with its lovely sandy beaches and medieval castle. Picturesque Whitby is a thirty minute drive away and the historic City of York is also within easy reach.
The cottage is conveniently located near to the regular Scarborough/Pickering/Helmsley bus route, allowing you to explore the area and enjoy its many attractions including the Pickering to Whitby Steam Railway without the use of a car. The village also offers two restaurants, two traditional inns, a tea-room and a small supermarket for stocking up on provisions.

Special Memories has a wealth of character and charm and the owners have provided many special touches to ensure a relaxing and memorable holiday.
Accommodation comprises:
- Spacious lounge with open stonework, beamed ceilings, gas fire, thirty two inch colour television (with Freeview), DVD player, radio, CD player and stylish contemporary furniture.
- Fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven, washing machine and microwave.
- One double bedroom.
- Bathroom with Victorian roll top bath as well as spacious walk in shower.
Outside: There is a patio and garden area with table and seat, along with private parking for one car.
Additional information: All linen, central heating, gas and electric are included in the price. The cottage is strictly non-smoking and unfortunately pets cannot be taken. Short breaks available from October to March or on a last minute basis - please enquire with the owner.
