Apple Cottage is a comfortable holiday cottage which is ideally located just a short walk from the centre of the historic market town of Pickering, the official gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
This holiday cottage is particularly popular with train enthusiasts, due to its ideal position over looking the steam railway and it is also perfect for those who enjoy walking.
Pickering is ideally located between the North Yorkshire coast and the City of York, making it perfect for exploring North Yorkshire and its many delights. From Pickering you can take England's longest steam railway and enjoy a relaxing ride whilst admiring the beautiful scenery. There are stately homes, gardens, museums, castles and galleries to enjoy and the diverse landscape is a pleasure to explore with its rugged moorland, forests and beautiful coastline.
The town of Pickering itself, offers an excellent selection of local shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and it even has its own castle dating back to the 12th Century. The popular seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough are only thirty minutes away.
The local area offers plenty of activities to participate in including walking and cycling. For those looking for adventure, you can visit Go Ape in Dalby Forest for a High Wire Forest Adventure or go off road at the UK's largest off road driving centre. Alternatively Flamingo Land Theme park and Zoo provides plenty of entertainment for the whole family and is just fifteen minutes away by car.
