Oxnead House is ideally situated in the village of Rockland St Mary, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads and is home to three beautifully furnished holiday cottages that offer a high degree of comfort and style. Set within an acre of grounds, belonging to the owners traditional 19th Century farmhouse, the cottages are well placed for a relaxing holiday in a peaceful setting.
This is a perfect place for those who enjoy the countryside and the cottages are located just two hundred yards from the village pub and Rockland Staithe where leisure boats moor. They are also within an easy walk of Wheatfen Nature Reserve and the RSPB Reserve at Rockland Broad.
This is a superb holiday destination for walkers, cyclists, bird watchers and those who enjoy canoeing, fishing or who simply want to relax in this beautiful Broadland setting. Completely self-contained, the holiday cottages afford private gardens, making them ideally suited for couples, friends, families or large groups who want to celebrate a special occasion, if all cottages are booked together.
The area offers a multitude of places to visit and interesting attractions. Within a few miles you have the historic City of Norwich with its heritage buildings, Norman cathedral, excellent shopping and great selection of restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs. The Norfolk coastal resorts of Great Yarmouth and Cromer are within easy driving distance as is the sunrise coast of Lowestoft and Southwold and the Suffolk Heritage resorts. Why not enjoy a day exploring the area along the winding country lanes; visit the County towns of North Suffolk and South Norfolk; have a meal in one of the pretty village pubs or visit one of the stately homes and gardens within the area - whatever your age, you are sure to find something to please!

The Barn and The Stable both accommodate up to four guests in each cottage. They are old single storey flint and brick buildings that retain much of their original character and charm whilst offering modern day comforts. All accommodation in both cottages is on one level, making them suitable for guests with limited mobility.
The Barn - Accommodation and Facilities:
Light and airy open plan lounge, dining area and newly fitted kitchen. There is comfortable seating, a thirty two inch flat screen television with Freeview, DVD player and iPod docking station. French doors lead out to the fully enclosed patio and garden area with outdoor furniture and barbeque.
The kitchen has oven, hob, integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave.
Bedroom one with zip and link king-size bed which can be made up as two singles upon request.
Bedroom two with a large double zip and link bed, again providing twin room facilities if requested.
Compact bathroom with newly fitted bathroom suite comprising, shower-bath (featuring high and low shower fitting), heated towel rail and shaver point.
The Stable - Accommodation and Facilities:
Open plan lounge, dining area and newly fitted kitchen with comfortable seating area. thirty two inch flat screen television with Freeview, DVD player and iPod docking station.
Kitchen fitted with oven, hob, fridge freezer, integrated dishwasher and microwave.
Bedroom one with a large zip and link super king-size bed providing twin accommodation if requested, along with a twenty two inch flat screen television with DVD. This room has en-suite with large shower, wash basin and WC.
Bedroom two with king size bed and twenty two inch flat screen television. This room also has an en-suite bathroom with newly fitted bathroom suite comprising bath and shower (featuring high and low shower fitting), wash basin, WC, heated towel rail and shaver point.
The stable door at the front provides access out into the fully fenced garden with patio area, outdoor furniture and barbeque.
Additional information: There is a washing machine available by the main house that all guests have the shared use of (free of charge) and iron and ironing board are available on request. Short breaks are available outside high season, and at short notice throughout the year. Free Wi-Fi. A welcome basket including a bottle of wine is provided upon arrival (please let the owners know if you would prefer chocolates instead of wine). Cottages have full central heating. Towels and bed linen are provided along with bathrobes and slippers for all adults.
