Clarence's Lodge is a cosy, compact and comfortable self catering holiday lodge that is located in the heart of the peaceful picturesque North Norfolk village of Sculthorpe. Within striking distance of the miles of sandy beaches at Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea, Clarence's Lodge is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful and unspoilt Norfolk countryside.
The lodge is a well equipped and provides a comfortable base for two to four guests. There is excellent shopping in the nearby town of Fakenham and quality restaurants and pubs can be found locally.
Sculthorpe village is quiet and unspoilt, with a village pub/restaurant (The Hourglass) within walking distance of the property, and a hotel with pub/restaurant (Sculthorpe Mill) a very short drive away. Shops, supermarkets and good restaurants are available in the small market town of Fakenham (two miles away) and more exclusive upmarket shopping and dining can be found in Burnham Market (eight miles away).
The coastal areas of Holkham, Stiffkey, Wells and Hunstanton are all within easy reach by car for some breath-taking country and coastal walks and birdwatching. Good sailing can be enjoyed at Brancaster, Burnham Overy Staithe and Blakeney and golf courses are nearby at Brancaster, Fakenham and Hunstanton. The nature reserve of Sculthorpe Moor featuring the Hawk and Owl Trust is almost on the doorstep, and nearby are the interesting and beautiful nature reserves at Holme, Pensthorpe, Cley and Titchwell.
There are plenty of places of interest to visit including:
Blickling Hall, built in the early 17th century and famed for its spectacular long gallery, parkland and beautiful gardens, full of colour throughout the year.
Holkham Hall, gardens and bay - a stunning piece of the North Norfolk Coast line which is well worth a visit.
The village of Brancaster, situated along the North Norfolk coast between Wells and Hunstanton with its irresistible mixture of ancient custom and modern progression.
The City of Norwich with its rich heritage - a dynamic and beautiful place both to live in and visit offering something for everyone. There are many great attractions in this historic city, why not visit Norwich Cathedral or just stroll by the river Wensum. If shopping is your pleasure there are many well known shops, and even lots of not so well known shops that are bursting with character.
Sculthorpe Hawk and Owl trust, a charity that was founded in 1969 and is dedicated to ensuring that birds such as owls, hawks, eagles and falcons survive for future generations to enjoy.
