Burgate Farmhouse is home to Wishing Well Cottage and is located approximately half a mile north of the centre of the country town of Fordingbridge. Situated just a five minutes drive from the edge of the New Forest and near the A338 Ringwood to Salisbury road, makes this holiday cottage a great central location for touring.
The Farmhouse is a picturesque thatched 15th Century listed property - formerly a working farmhouse and today a Grade II listed building. The two self catering cottage wings can be booked individually or together (please note that they are not connecting). Both holiday cottages have television, DVD player, microwave, CD/radio cassette, along with full size cooker. Both are beautifully appointed and presented with a homely feel and have lots of DVD's for guests to borrow. The Cottages are heated by storage heaters, with electric convectors during the winter months for 'top up heat' or during the cooler summer evenings when the storage heaters are switched off. Free Wi-Fi connection is available.
The New Forest National Park is an area of exceptional natural beauty with moors, large open heaths, dells interspersed with woods and plantations, greens, leafy glades, picturesque brooks and streams and peaceful villages with ancient churches, quaint houses and pubs.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at a small charge. There is no charge for bed linen, highchair or cot. There is also lots of baby/toddler ‘kit’ which can be borrowed (free of charge). Electricity is by meter. A small charge is made for the use of the washing machine and tumble drier. The half acre garden is mainly lawn and trees and has a summer house, swings, garden furniture and BBQ for guest's enjoyment. There is also a separate area in the garden for children’s ball games, along with 2 football nets. There is plenty of parking in the large gravel area between the garden and cottages. and a large games room which has a full sized skittle alley, along with a pool table, table tennis, darts and lots of children’s toys.

The entrance from the courtyard leads into the kitchen, fully equipped with microwave, full size cooker, fridge/freezer etc. A sliding door separates the kitchen from the cosy beamed sitting/dining room. There is a small WC downstairs just inside the entrance although access is not ideal but it is useful for children. Stairs lead from the kitchen up to the three bedrooms, family bathroom and separate WC.
The large master bedroom has a double bed and single bed (plus colour television with DVD player). It is accessed through the second bedroom. The second bedroom is twin-bedded. In between these rooms is a large walk-in wardrobe. Both these rooms have lovely original beams. The third bedroom along the corridor is smaller with a sloped ceiling and pine bunk beds (full size). The bathroom has a bath with shower over and a washbasin. There is a separate WC upstairs.
Wishing Well is ideally suited for family accommodation. Please note - The extra single bed in the Master Bedroom means that there are beds for seven. However, space in the lounge/dining room is better suited for six. If your party includes several children then seven would probably be OK as the kitchen has a breakfast bar with stools for four.
You can do an online food order from any of the main supermarkets and arrange for the delivery to be made during the morning just before you arrive. Everything will be put away for you.
