Bartley Barn provides holiday accommodation for two to four guests (up to six for family groups with the use of additional beds) in an enviable position on the open forest.
Located close to Hatchet Pond in the village of East Boldre near the south eastern side of the New Forest, Barley Barn offers miles of walking, horse riding and cycling from the doorstep. Well behaved dogs are welcome, and with its own level paddock and field shelter the Barn can also accommodate your horses, providing a superb base for a riding holiday.
There are fabulous views and wonderful sunsets to enjoy over open forest to the west and the cottage is a short walk to the Turfcutter's Arms which serves good food in East Boldre, along with the post office/village store selling nearly everything you may need during your stay, and the village garage.
The historic village of Beaulieu with its Motor Museum and pretty setting is just two miles away and from here you can enjoy a lovely riverside walk to the picturesque 18th century hamlet of Bucklers Hard. Lymington is five miles away and offers a full range of shops and restaurants along with regular ferries to the Isle of Wight, boat excursions and fishing trips.
For those who enjoy cycling, bike hire is available from both Brockenhurst and Beaulieu and you will find horse riding centres at Brockenhurst and Burley, providing the opportunity to explore the forest by horseback. There is a very pleasant beach at Milford on Sea just eight miles away. From Milford you can walk along the shingle bank to Hurst Castle and the closest mainland point to the Isle of Wight, and take a ferry back up the river to Keyhaven.
