Becher's Cottage sleeps up to four guests in two en-suite bedrooms. It is a converted stone barn that is located on a traditional pasture farm of small fields abound by ancient hedgerows, where horses, cattle and sheep peacefully graze. The cottage has been awarded Five Stars by VisitWales and provides the perfect place for exploring Monmouthshire, the South Wales coast, the Wye Valley, the Brecon Beacons, the Royal Forest of Dean, the Welsh valleys and the English Marches.
There are castles, historic houses and gardens, exhibitions, museums, arts and crafts, wildlife, walking, sightseeing and cycling to be enjoyed. For the more adventurous there are mountains and caves, lakes and rivers, ironworks and mines just waiting to be explored.
This is the perfect place for a relaxing break away where you can escape the pressures of everyday life in a wonderful rural and tranquil retreat. It is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet and offers the chance to enjoy the beautiful rolling countryside by foot, bike, and on horseback (livery can be offered if you would like to bring your own horse).
The area offers excellent golf courses nearby and horseracing at Chepstow and Hereford. Becher's Cottage is just six miles from Monmouth and approximately nine miles from Abergavenny. Both of these historic market towns offer plenty of interesting things to see and do along with shops and eating establishments.
Becher's Cottage is perfectly located in one of the quietest parts of the country, close to the English Border, amongst beautiful rolling Welsh countryside, on a typical family farm. Guests are welcome to walk around the farm and enjoy the wonderful views all around and there are footpaths allowing you to explore the area on foot.

Becher's Cottage is laid out on two floors and the front door opens into a large hallway with a feature staircase.
Accommodation comprises:
- Open plan living room with a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. In the living room there is a Freeview television, DVDs, games, books and magazines, as well as a selection of maps and local information. There is also an electric "woodburner" fire for cosy nights in.
- The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and dining in style. There is a fridge and separate freezer, electric oven and grill, ceramic hob, microwave and toaster, plenty of pans and utensils, crockery and cutlery and a dishwasher to make clearing up easy. All these are in working order and tested before each arrival.
- Bedroom one has a double bed and its en-suite bathroom has a bath.
- Bedroom two has twin beds and has an en-suite shower room. All duvets, linen and towels are provided and the beds will be made up for your arrival.
Additional information: The cottage is non-smoking throughout. Children are welcome and dogs can be brought by prior arrangement (sorry but no other pets). Livery may be arranged with the owner should you wish to bring your horse. All electricity and heating is included. A welcome pack is provided upon arrival. Weekend or mid-week short breaks often available out of high season - please enquire with the owner. Changeover day for holiday weeks is Saturday but the owners can be flexible.
