Stretton Lakes is located in the county of Rutland and set within one hundred and twenty acres of farmland. It is home to three luxurious holiday lodges which are perfectly positioned around four fishing lakes in an idyllic setting surrounded by open farmland and woodland.
The lakes provide a tranquil setting with a huge range of flora and fauna, where you can watch carp swimming, mallard ducks flying into roost at dusk and if you're lucky, you may also see deer grazing around the lodges.
These luxury log cabins are positioned on the southerly edge of Stretton Wood, a one hundred acre ancient woodland which is teeming with woodland birds and fallow deer. This is the perfect setting for enjoying a walk through the woods or simply relaxing in one of the holiday lodges, each with its own private heated hot tub overlooking the lakes - a simply perfect way to unwind with a glass of wine after an exciting day exploring the area or a days fishing.
Rutland is England's smallest county which has one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Europe. Set in 3,100 acres of countryside, the reservoir offers something for everyone in a peaceful yet exciting environment. It has a twenty five mile circular track with is ideal for walking or cycling and you can hire bikes or bring your own. Rutland Water has an international reputation for trout fishing, sailing and bird watching and all of these activities are available for day visitors to enjoy.
The site includes the Anglian Water Bird Watching Centre with its internationally famous nature reserve with twenty bird hides and fascinating exhibition. This is where the first breeding ospreys in England occurred and is home of the British Bird Watching Fair every August. Rutland Water is ideal for those who enjoy water sports with dinghies, windsurfers, kayaks, canoes, rowing boats and even power boats available for hire. For the less energetic, Rutland water boasts an excellent nature and woodland reserve, butterfly and aquatic centre and as mentioned, it is great for bird watching. You can also simply find a bench and relax whilst watching the activities on the water!

Three luxurious round log cabins which are set in a lovely position, surrounded by woodland and overlooking the fishing lakes. The lodges were built in 2008 and have been finished to a very high standard of both comfort and style.
Each lodge has its own private heated outdoor hot tub spa which can seat six and the round log interior gives a real alpine feel. With log effect burner stoves glowing in the corner, the lodges are perfect during the winter months and provide the ideal place for a romantic break or longer holiday, at any time of the year.
During the summer months the verandah provides the perfect place for relaxing and eating al fresco with wooden furniture and barbeque. The Verandah leads to the private heated hot tub, providing a luxurious outdoor environment.
Each lodge has a fully fitted and equipped kitchen leading to an open plan, dining and lounge area. The lounge is equipped with comfortable sofas, CD/radio and Digital Television with DVD player. All lodges have a double bedroom with en suite and a twin bed room with a separate bathroom.
Additional information: All bed linen, towels and bathrobes are provided. Sorry. no pets. Please let the owners know at time of booking if you require a high chair or travel cot (bedding not included). A complimentary welcome pack awaits your arrival. Electricity, water and gas are all included.
