Brackenthwaite Farm is a special place, nestled within the heart of the stunning, yet relatively unknown, Arnside/Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It is situated outside the village of Yealand Redmayne towards Arnside, surrounded by fields and woodland. On clear days there are beautiful views of the Lakeland hills, Arnside Knott and Farleton Knott.
There are four holiday cottages which form part of an attractive 17th Century complex of limestone buildings set around a large private courtyard.
Location: The farm is situated directly on the south Cumbria and north Lancashire county borders, mid way between Kendal and Lancaster. The coast is only three miles away at both Arnside and Silverdale. From the doorstep there are wonderful opportunities for both walking and cycling and the farm is located on the National Cycle Network and there are opportunities for off-road mountain biking. Fishing, horse riding and golf are also near by.
Leighton Moss RSPB Nature Reserve and Gait Barrows National Nature Reserve (which was originally part of Brackenthwaite Farm) are within two miles.
The cottages are situated on a 70 acre farm with woodland. There is a small outdoor play area, pond for observing ornamental waterfowl and a nature trail, where buzzards, deer and many wild flowers can be seen. An outdoor seating and barbeque area is also available for guests
