Cross Farm Holiday Cottages accommodate two to four guests in a choice of three delightful holiday homes that have been converted from farm buildings. Situated in rural West Lancashire, the cottages are within easy reach of many attractions and suitable for families or friends who want to explore the area.
Set in lovely countryside with views over fields, the cottages are conveniently located within easy reach of Southport, Ormskirk and Liverpool. They provide ideal accommodation for those visiting the Grand National, conferences, Liverpool One shopping, the Southport Flower Show and for those looking for a peaceful retreat with a little luxury.
Liverpool is less than 30 minutes' drive away and there is a regular bus service, making the cottages well placed for attractions including the Albert Dock and Maritime Museum, the famous Grand National and football fixtures at Liverpool and Everton.
The charming Victorian seaside town of Southport is just twenty minutes away by car where you'll find old shopping arcades, second hand bookshops, antique shops, good restaurants and great fish and chips! Again, Southport is accessible by a bus service if you don't want to take the car.
Cross Farm Holiday Cottages are within easy reach of Formby's long sandy beaches, Ainsdale with its sand dunes and the National Trust's red squirrel reserve. Anthony Gormley's "Another Place" on Crosby Beach is well worth a visit and the Tudor splendour of Speke Hall and Rufford Old (owned by the National Trust) are not to be missed.
This coast is home to many fine golf courses, the most famous being Royal Birkdale. Anglers can enjoy excellent fishing on the Leeds-Liverpool canal just across the road, or on one of five excellent fishing lakes within easy reach. Birdwatchers too will not be disappointed with Marshside, Mere Sands Woods and Martin Mere nearby.
Cyclists and walkers can enjoy the towpath of the Leeds-Liverpool canal. Also nearby are the Trans-Pennine Trail which runs from Southport to Hornsea and the Cheshire Lines, a cycle track and footpath created from the old Liverpool-to-Southport railway line.
With plenty of attractions and beaches nearby, this peaceful retreat provides the ideal place to do as much or as little as you want.
