Tommy Rob's Cottage (4 Thurston Bank) is a traditional slate Victorian terrace holiday cottage in one of the most elevated positions on the road up to Coniston "Old Man" - probably Coniston's finest feature and the most famous of the majestic Coniston Fells rising dramatically up over the village.
The cottage affords fantastic far reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells and is only a ten minute walk down into the heart of Coniston village with it's excellent variety of pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops.
Coniston village sits in the heart of the Lake District National Park, alongside Coniston Water in a wonderful setting abound with woods, cascading waterfalls, streams, lakes and mountains, all providing a haven for wildlife including wild deer and red squirrels. The village is popular with tourists and its two main Victorian streets are home to traditional shops including the village butcher, grocer, post office and newsagent.
The surrounding hamlet provides a wide selection of attractions and local activities to enjoy. It is famous for climbing and walking and offers watersports, fishing and pony trekking. For those feeling less energetic, a visit to Victorian philosopher John Ruskin's period mansion across the lake at Brantwood or The Ruskin Museum in the village is sure to please. Alternatively, hire a boat and explore the lake or sit back on the Victorian steam yacht Gondola which will show you the many delights.
Available all year round, this cosy holiday cottage is in a great location with numerous walks from the front door yet is quietly situated for a relaxing holiday.

Veranda with access to the garden down steep steps or via a permissive footpath through gardens from number 1.

Bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Access is up a steep tarmac road and has a good parking space for one car.
Additional information: Children are welcome. One dog allowed (to be kept downstairs). You can travel to and enjoy the cottage without a car but the access is up a steep road. Bed linen and towels are not included. Changeover day is Saturday in peak season but the cottage is available for week-ends and mid weeks during the rest of the year. Prices include electricity and coal/logs are available from the garage in the village.
