It is within walking distance of the local restaurants and shops of Windermere and Bowness and a superb base for touring the Lake District and visiting its many attractions.
Conveniently located between Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere, The Garden Flat is not only within walking distance of England's largest natural lake, but also within walking distance of Bowness - Lakeland's most popular holiday destination. Here you can enjoy a wide range of boating activities and water sports from sailing to a leisurely cruise on a steamer.
It is hardly surprising that this has been such a popular holiday destination for so many years. The sprawling town of Bowness with its Victorian influence is busy most of the year with people coming to enjoy the watersports or simply soak up the beautiful setting and relaxing atmosphere. It offers a great selection of restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops along with many attractions including The World of Beatrix Potter and the Windermere Steamboat Museum.
This area also offers many enjoyable walks that are connected to the cruises network, allowing you to explore the beauty of the area both by foot and from the water. Orrest Head, made popular by the famous poet William Wordsworth, is a short walk out of Windermere and an outstanding viewpoint where you can marvel at the breathtaking scenery. Other local activities include golf, horse riding and fishing.
